would you be ok with Brenner and garner playing guard for us next year? I know that we need to rebuild the oline, but since these two have played its been a different oline. they are far from perfect but Breener could be good for the future. I don't know just a thought.

oh how many years are left on their contract. thanks in advance

Brenner did well when he started and I always liked Gardner

ive always liked garner, and Brenner is a good surprise

I wouldn't be. If we have one starting I don't have a problem with, but it's too early to crown them starters. I'd rather us grab a solid guy in FA, and then MAYBE have the two of them duke it out for the other spot. Garner I wouldn't hate starting tho, just wouldn't be crazy about it and I'm just happy they've done enough for us to even have this conversation. I say keep both of them, sign a solid guy for 1 spot and draft another one in the middle rounds. Have those 2, a draft pick and Thomas compete for one spot and provide us with some depth.

No chance. Never put full stock in late season line play. Everybody is beat up or coasting and the results tend to blend together. That's how the Dolphins can field a patched up line and have success against the Jets. Once everybody starts anew next year it's a true reflection of ability and we'll suffer immensely with mediocrities like that.

This is an argument I used to make all the time on Las Vegas radio handicapping shows. I finally had some converts after at least a year of doubting. I figured it out only because I lost so many bets a few years earlier when newcomers would enter the lineup late in the season and I'd expect them to get swamped. Didn't happen.

Besides, we already tried this once with Garner. I warned at the time that it wouldn't work, based on the ideas mentioned above.

The teams we've played lately have been right on the verge of playoffs and have just as much riding on winning as us....and a dominate defensive line that was the Jets and they got 1 sack. I like both of them and want to keep them but I know there is better out there. Resign both of them though. Great backups to plug in.

Plus, they can at least hold the line until the rookies that we are sure to draft for those positions are ready.

No, I want this line to improve....I could handle allowing Garner and Jerry battling it out for one of the starting guards, but this team needs a guy who is better....they need at least two tackles and 1 guard going into next season....Brenner is solid depth and a guy who can fill in and develop, but not a guy I want starting going into next season.

They should be in the mix for starting positions next year, but you have to draft well for depth and look at mid-level free agent options. I'm frankly more worried about the tackle spots.
