I don't know enough about Nolan's time in SF and why it didn't work to write him off.

I'm not against giving a guy a second chance. Belichick was worse in Cleveland than Sparano has been so far in Miami and look how things worked out for him.

+1, I saw alot of posts before this season relating to firing Tony and giving the job to Nolan. It's obvious to me that our whole coaching staff is in over their heads. Tony has completely lost the team and nobody under him can motivate/threaten players enough to make a diff. They are all lame ducks and these players know it.

Yep, and I'm afraid that Ross doesn't see it. I could see him firing Sparano at the end of the season and putting Nolan in his place. Then we would end up with thim for a few years before he finally cans everyone. I don't want to see that. I want all the coaches and Ireland packing their backs at the end of the year.
