my choice is our number one and our number 4 for (detroits 22nd, r. williams, d. woody, and s. rogers.)

my theory was, by making the trades, we can upgrade the defense with spears and carpenter. and instantly upgrade our offense with anderson, a healthy brown, r.williams, and ginn.
not too bad, then with second round pick upgrade o-line

only for a klondike bar

Why do so many of you want D. Anderson? I mean the guy had a great season, sure, but it was only ONE SEASON. He may suck next year and if we took him then what? You'd all be complaining, saying we shouldn't have taken him, so on and so on. If he can show that he could do it again next year then maybe it would be a good idea.

Why Derek Anderson?
We have no intake on whats the QB situation in the eyes of Parcells, Ireland and HC.
My guess is that they will keep TG around to mentor him, and will sign a veteran to play the position for a year.

Note: Veteran. Not a player who had one great year.

we gotta settle down and be patient. its Feb. 8th/9th??? actually i not officially sure, but my point is that its soooo early, and we are jumping at any topic that comes up. Parcells and the staff are probably still analysing what they have. they arent even ready to think of moves or trades... they are figuring out what they already have, what they think of Beck, what they need to improve him with as well as continue developing his strengths. that takes time.

We'll see whats in the eyes in Parcells in time. Free Agency is coming up, we can enjoy the combine... just be happy of what positive has happend already for this team, and much more positive will occurr!!!!

super duper no!!! because believe you are saying give up our first for free agents. or have i misread?

By then he will be signed to a long term contract. But yeah I agree I dont really want him either. Too risky. We really cant afford another big F-up.

Derek Anderson is not even 25 and has put up a better season with a not so special team than any dolphin qb has since Marino and peopledont want to give the guy any credit.

I think we trade and fill all out gaps with trading down and with free agency and we let Beck have a shot! I feel good about Beck!

While I'm not against the trade with Dallas for players and those 2 picks, I rather have Barber and Spears, I am against trading our picks for players only. I don't care who they are; they are someone elses trash or they would want to keep them. What are we going to do trade 2 picks for Anderson and two years later he's back at Cleveland for free?. It happened with A.J.Feeley so why not Anderson? No I want all the picks we can get, at least 10 to 12 if ParLand is so damn good at drafting people, this year and next. After we have our core then we can play in FAcy; not before.

Besides name me one Duck QB that as turned out great in the NFL???

Let's see: He had one of the best o-lines in the business (strange that no one gives that unit any credit), a top 5 TE and a top 5 WR. Add to that a very solid veteran RB and I don't see how that unit is not so special. Quite the contrary: I think it's one of that most underrated offenses in the whole league.

Now, Anderson didn't do a bad job by any means but he has a lot of rather serious flaws that were partially hidden by a great supporting cast. He isn't accurate by any means. He stares down his targets. He puts way too much pressure on the ball on his short and intermediate throws (I don't know how many times I saw a WR miss an easy catch because Anderson basically shot him down). He doesn't handle pressure really well.

I wouldn't mind having Derek in general (the kid's young and even if he ends up being the second coming of Gus Frerotte, which I think he might, that's still a pretty good career for a 6th round pick), but the asking price is likely to be a lot higher than he's actually worth. The fact that almost everyone in Cleveland wants to trade him despite Anderson putting together better numbers than any Browns QB since the Founding Fathers should be telling all by itself.
