Would You Ever Quit on the Fins?

67 years old and born in Miami ,been a fan since their inception. As much as I don't like what's going on right now, I will always be a Dolphin fan.

50+ year fan here.......so not going anywhere!

There have been plenty of times I have wanted to, but it just isn't possible

Would you ever turn in your fan card? Is there anything the Fins franchise could do that would make you quit? If so, what*
Ill always be a fan but I haven't given a shít if they win or lose in quite some time. They've sucked the fun out of watching football

No but I must say that this past Sunday was so much more enjoyable watching the games without the Dolphins playing.

Didn't we have this same thread two weeks ago? Or two years? When all you do is lose it really is the multi decade question.

No, I'll always be a fan. But a loss no longer bothers me. The rare win still feels good.
This is exactly it. I’ll never quit, but I’m not nearly as invested as I once was. The losses used to really bother me but as I get older I realize there are more important things in life.

I openly said that if Miami had traded for DeShaun Watson, I was gone.

I wouldn't have lurked, I would have openly rooted for them to lose every single game until Watson and every member of making that trade would have been excised.

You don't root for serial rapists or abusers. Ever.

Unfortunately no.

But right now, with the current HC and current Owner. Heck even the current temporary GM, I will not take them seriously that they are truly trying to build any sort of competitive team.

Couldn't commit whatsoever to a rebuild. Truly pathetic

Oh agreed. I was gone if they traded for that guy. Some things are just more important then the stinking PHINZ.

Not sure I would have picked a new team. Probably just follow certain players and just enjoy Sundays lol

I’m 69 years old been a Dolphin’s fan since I was a kid. As I gotten older I never had a problem giving the Robbie family and the Huizenga family my money for season tickets. Well that ended last year, we as a family decided to not renew. We spend the time out on the boat with the grand kids water skiing, tubing and just enjoying the time. Could not justify giving Ross anymore of my money. He is a terrible owner & to me he just seems like he just don’t care. As long as he is making money I think that’s all that matters to him.

I think, in my 47 years on earth, that this is one of the lowest point, because there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel.

My Mom was always a Sea-chickens fan; I could have done that in her honor.

Quit, no. Miami is so dysfunctional and hopeless that’s it’s become comical. I find myself becoming more of a general NFL fan vs someone who goes out of my way to watch Dolphins games. I still hope they’ll figure it out but don’t believe it will happen anytime soon.

I tried, its impossible.

You can root for another team but you'll find that the Fins are always the main priority. Even when they're awful.

I started rooting for the Dolphins as soon as I understood what football was. Maybe if you didnt become a fan until you were an adult it would be easier to quit them, but if you're a lifer, it’s impossible.
I grew up in Pennsylvania, so the Eagles have always been my “B” team.

I started liking the Dolphins in the early 70s and will always be a Miami fan. I was always optimistic, no matter how bad they were doing. However, things are different now, because IMO, Ross is the worst thing to ever happen to the Dolphins.

I disliked what Philbin did to the team so much that for years I had to root for them to lose, waiting for Ross to fire Queasy Joe. It was a little better under Gase, but then Grier became the GM. Under Flores I had hope, with Ryan FitzMagic making Parker and Williams look like Pro Bowlers, and then watching a defense that was exciting at times.

But, the addition of tiny Tua and then McDaniel, with Grier still the incompetent GM, now have me again rooting for them to lose so that Ross will finally clean house completely. Grier is gone now, but nothing will get better until McDaniel and Tua are gone too.

IOW, I'm a long-time fan who will always be a fan. But, when the GM, HC, and QB are hurting the team, then I see no problem with rooting for them to lose, if that's what it takes to force Ross to clean house. He needs to hire people who want a tough, physical team, and not this weak finesse nonsense that they are now under Grier and McDaniel.
