Chris Clemons, for the sole purpose of replacing Jimmy Wilson as a back up safety? Personally, I would've felt a lot better with him back there over Wilson the first 4 weeks..

Now, I know Wilson is more valuable anyways in the slot. For now.. Hopefully Jamar Taylor can step up soon because I don't like Davis there full time either.. But anyways, I would sign Clemons now to 2 year (ish) deal. I believe Wilson is a FA, so we can let him walk with no worries, except for revamping our cb's which needs to keep happening anyways. Need to find a youngin with talent

No. Michael Thomas has played well as a backup safety and sometimes as a nickel corner. Wilson gets to move down to nickel now with Jones back and I think Aikens is coming along nicely. You sign Clemons for what at this point? He can't play nickel, he doesn't play special teams, so what does he bring at this point?

Clemons signed a 2 year deal for $2.7 which is chump change.

If Hickey let him walk over crumbs, reason for it.

We could get into the whole solid player, he's not flash but doesn't give up the big plays etc etc.

But if Hickey let him walk over $2.7....fairly telling.

Which brings up another point. The more people we sign off the street the less money we have to roll over for next years salary cap...and we're going to need every penny with our salaries being projected at around $142 million next year. The current cap is $133 million.

You shouldn't sign Clemons to a deal, Johnny.

Jeff Ireland signed Clemons to a deal once ... ONCE!

Mmm, no. I hope Clemons can find a job...with someone else. With Jones back the defensive backfield is in good shape.

I wouldn't bring him in unless a starter goes down long term.

Michael Thomas has been steadily progressing and showing nicely...and is a stud on ST.

if a couple guys were to get hurt I would be for it, but not right now

Jamar Taylor is a straight up bust. He's garbage. Has been since day 1 and became more irrelevant when he publicly admitted he was a little bi@@@ and said he wanted to give up

Our safeties need to hit, so probably not. kind of wish aikens was more pro ready because hes got some size. Still not convinced with michael thomas.

We have the biggest bunch of finesse safeties in the league, no need to add any more of them. Still waiting to see someone come downhill and crush a ball carrier.
