Players like Clowney don't come around often. This trade would never happen, but it is still fun to think about, nonetheless.

I would probably make that trade, would you?

No....but I might for Khalil Mack. Clowney takes too many plays off and we don't need a guy who is just a 3rd down player.

He'll no he's not a lock to be a good player. I have questions about work ethic. And we have higher needs

I have a feeling Jordan is going to be a great great player in the league, I'm not a big fan of Clowney. I wouldn't even straight up trade Deon for Clowney

The better question is Jordan and #19 for no.1??? Clowney may be taken 4th oa and still be a Texan

Interesting.

Take a once in a decade DE for Jordan and 19 overall? Maybe.

My biggest and really only hesitation is Clowney work ethic.

Nah, I'd go with Tannehill and Wake for the #1 pick.

Sarc Attack. lol

I wouldn't make this trade, but not for the same reasons as everyone else. I think Dion will be a hell of a player down the road so I don't think it's really worth giving up his potential AND a first rounder. I also don't understand the whole work ethic concern with Clowney. Alshon Jeffery was one of the best WRs in his draft class but he dropped due to his "bad work ethic." Within two years he's one of the best young WRs in this league and no one questions his work ethic. Jeffery went to the Bears where he was paired with Brandon Marshall who took him under his wing. They push each other and Marshall helped him become the hard-working, talented receiver that he is. Same would go for Clowney, IMO. If he's drafted by the Texans, Watt takes him under his wing and pushes him. If we were to make the trade, Wake would show him the ropes and really illustrate how much work it takes to become one of the best. I think the work ethic argument is BS, but that's just me.

Texans are reportedly asking for 3 first round picks for the top overall spot, and I dont think the #19 pick and Dion Jordan are the equivalent to 3 first round picks.

Can Clowney blanket big athletic TE's all the way down the field in coverage?

There's your answer.

Clowney MIGHT be a "once in a <insert dramatic comparison here> player", Jordan has the potential to revolutionize how defenses neutralize the most menacing mismatch for DCs in the game today. Everyone tries to solve the problem with DBs and LBs. A DE comes along that can solve the problem and still get to the QB from just about any spot on the DLine.... yea, that's special.

Jordan will be downfield batting the ball away from Gronk that Clowney couldn't get to Brady in time to stop from being thrown because he took the play off.
