Wow..Ricky Better mind p's and q's when he returns

Sportscenter is saying they expect that players suspended for substance abuse starting next year to not be able to be considered for awards, player of year and so forth.

But they also said they expect to see more random drug tests than they do now, which may mean RW is NFL, not for long, unless he has really cleaned up his act which I hope he has....I really like to watch him run.

I spent years in the USMC and we did piss tests very frequently...I can just see that in the NFL now...who knows how many more they will catch....prob a bunch...but I guess it is needed and they need to crack down on it. Not fair to the ones who don't use the things for those who do to get away with it...t

How many times has Ricky been suspended now?

And at what point does he just get banned?

I can't believe that he has any room at all to slip up at this point without being banned from the NFL for life.

Ricky would be subject to numerous drug tests anyway, as he was after returning from his first suspension, so I doubt he'll notice any kind of difference.

I honestly believe the guy has cleaned up his act anyway, I think the last suspension was bull considering he provided a perfectly plausible explanation that no one in the NFL was able to disprove.

I think he is still testing and passing all of his tests. We never found out why he failed the last one.... I think it was a missed test which count's as a failed test

I keep hearing it was a bs suspension but never heard an explanation. What is the explanation?

There's never been an explanation. The entire situation is confidential -- meaning the NFL and the Dolphins are not allowed to discuss the matter in public. Ricky (or his attorney) can make things public, however, the only statement that was publicly made was that the failed test was not due to marijuana (this was stated by his attorney). So, any other information or explanations such as poppy seeds, herbal supplements, etc., that you hear is pure speculation and unfounded.

Now, in order for Ricky to be reinstated, he would have had to have maintained his drug testing. I have read that he has done that. So, I have to assume that he is staying clean (or has contacted Barry Bonds on how to test clean ).

Another failed test, I believe, will be a lifetime ban. Dexter Manley of the Redskins many years back had a lifetime ban imposed. But, I do think there are still circumstances that will allow a player to come back (after some period of time). So, I don't believe that it's a true "lifetime" ban.

I honestly believe that it is a moot point anyway as I don't believe that Williams will return. It took alot of convincing by Saban to get him back with the team........and now that Saban is gone? Well, I just don't see a return.

He didnt test positive for weed on his last test, he tested positive for a masking agent which the NFL claimed would only be used to hide substance abuse.

Ricky argued that the substance entered his body as part of the holistic medicine course he was studying and his tutors and other knowledgeble people backed him up. Seems ridiculous to me that they can ban him for that.

Also, its worth bearing in mind that recreational drug abuse is not taken as seriously as steroid abuse.

i was under the impression that Ricky was banned...he now has to 'beg' back in April...it's not a given...and with a new commish, the climate of the NFL has changed so, that ol' Ricky just might be made the poster-boy for "stupid-idiotic-foolish-players"...

Twice, next time it's for good. Ricky knows that better than anyone else. Also they test Ricky VERY frequently, and he still has to apply for reinstatement into the NFL. He has been tested regularly even while playing in the CFL, or he would never get reinstated.

I don't see this potential ruling having ANY effect on Ricky at all.

LoL, they Already Test RW more than what you have ever been tested in the MC. I was in the Army, and now work on a Marine base, they don't piss test people 3 times a week like they were supposedly doing with RW.

You may well be right, but the NFL still wants to sell tickets and ads, and people like & will pay to see Ricky run, and they know that. So I'm inclined to believe he will get back in. He was banned, and has to apply for reinstatement in April, we won't really know till then if he's coming back or not.

He's got no chances left. The next time he fails a drug test, he is banned from the NFL for the rest of his life.

This is why he has no trade value, and you should point and laugh at anyone suggesting we trade him.
