I just got back from Tampa yesterday, and tried to do a search, and couldn't really find too much of this in the past days. So, I thought I would post it. Excuse me if it was already talked to death about. I just watched the clip of Saban from his Post-Game Press Conference, and he scared the crap out of me. I love to see how passionate he really is towards the game and seeing results. This is a big reason why some of these threads bashing Saban are nonsense. This guy is going to give us a very bright future.

Yeah I think he is a winner. He hates losing but explains losing isn't the problem. I think he's taking a "from the ground up" approach on building this team. It may hurt for awhile during the transition but I think in the end it will be worth it. He has my support. His thought process makes sense to me.:D

thanks for posting that. that's a great speech. and he's right on: nobody cares about what they're actually doing anymore, they just want results. the thing is, if you really care about what you're doing at all times and pay attention accordingly, you're going to get the results you want. if you just focus on the results without focusing on what you're actually doing, you're going to be disappointed more often than not. it's a lesson for life as much as it is a lesson for a football team.

he reminds me of a latin teacher i once had, who used to yell at me when i only got A's: "you should never settle for the A. you should get 100% every day! you have the ability. focus and do it!" he was the best teacher i ever had.

i've been surprised by the number of posters who don't feel what you're saying with "this guy is going to give us a bright future." this team is already more competetive, and when saban finds enough guys who really buy in to what he's selling, they're going to demoralize people. imagine getting thorougly out-executed and then going to the training room because you've been beaten up physically as well... yeah, people are going to hate playing this man's teams once they start playing his game.

awesome nubs - you are the best stuff finder ever... :hump:

:shakeno:

For someone with 13 in their username and Marino in their avatar, you get a big :shakeno: ! Big difference from being in prime and just up and quit, compared to having very bad knees and being forced out by coach and then retiring(the proper way to leave a sport).

I think he was referring to Dan's stint in the Dolphins front office, not his playing days. It's still a dumb comment because Dan thought he would actually have some control over Wanny and Spielman, and when he found out that Wayne just brought him in as a PR move, he wanted out. Can you blame him???

I was thinking the EXACT same thing, Phinz.

so long as he does not up out of the blue and pull a danny marino or a ricky williams and decide it ain't worth it and quit,,,,.....t

The chances of that are about as good as that red guy with horns going ice skating. :shakeno:

Saban "the worst thing you can do is play poorly and win".

I agree with this statement so much its not even funny. This "instant gratification", "me-only world", "win-only and this site is happy" garbage has to end.

We have to judge this franchise on the total package, all the little things that are contributing to a win or a loss and not just the end result. Just listen to Saban and appreciate what you are experiencing as a fan.

I give Saban and Co. full marks for effort and action so far. This is fun to watch as this franchise is rebuilt to be focused and return to glory for the longhaul while this era is underway.

This is the most PISSED OFF I have seen Saban so far... I love his INTENSITY, there's no doubt in my mind that Saban is intelligent, a mastermind, and full of emotion and intensity. I love every bit of it. And then there's Wanny...
