Lorenzo' Neal is like the best FB in the game, has been for a LONG time....And you can't say he wasn't part of LaDainian Tomlinson's amazing career....Ronnie(Brown) would be the next best thing,if he had a guy like Neal...

Thoughts?

The whole Chargers situation with Neal, etc.

Wow he is 37 years old though... It would have to be a really quick fix and I doubt he is part of the rebuilding plans. We have no reason for the future of the franchise to use him. If he still plays at a high level at 40 years old then OK. But I doubt it.

hes 37 and injury prone now. I can't see him playing a full season. So no, stay away.

he may be 37, but i would sign him to a 2-3 year deal in a heartbeat. He is still the best FB in the game hands down

If he's healthy, he's a fine 1 year rental. The guy is a beast if his body is still up to the task. The downside is he's not going to be around in 2-3 season when we're going to be prepared to win so it's probably better to try to develop Mauia or to get a new, but relatively young guy in the system.

so what "IF" neal was to be signed which is not going to be the case so what would happen to Reagen he did really well last year and has many years to come i would keep reagen and wouldnt even think of signing a 37 year old fB. FB is a very demanding postion and 37 years old i dont think Neal can take hits from DLineman or LB's as well as the juggernaut can. it be the trent green story all over.. bad ju ju

i was listening to a sirius radio show, i guess right before the season started, and Neal was the guest and i can clearly remember him stating that he wanted this to be his last year. That his body was old and he wanted to watch his kids grow up. take it for what its worth.

if we did pick him up i could only see it as a one yr thing..he would be a great mentor for reagan. we wouldn't have to use neal every down. only if he came cheap and with a injury clause in his contract. we kept saying last year that "old man" green would be a good mentor for beck until beck was fully ready..i see it as the same type situation.

you guys are killing me with this stuff. just because he was once one of the best FB's in the game doesn't mean we have any use for him. i don't see this as any possibility. at least i hope not.

too old, too expensive for his age and risk factor... we rebuilding anyways. not worth it for two years when hopefully thats when we poushing it for the lombardi and he then retires.
