The bold indicates players that will either restructure or that will be cut. IMO by the way.

chambers, mckinney, mcmichael all must be released or atleast take huge pay cuts the rest are pretty overpaid but those three particularly are ridiculously overpaid for the performances that they put in.

If Chambers and McMike don't take pay cuts, releasing them is not the solution. That would just be nuts and our offense would become way worse. (Yes, even worse than they were last year.)

We could easily replace the production of Chambers and McMichael and Jeno James. Very, very easily. It's the cap hit in dead money that makes getting rid of them tough. Although I'm not sure about Jeno James.

there are some very viable FA options to replace chambers (drew bennet, donte stallworth) even taking a reciever in the draft following trading either of them is an option as then we could use the picks on a TE or reciever to replace them and in the end hopefully have an improved more value for money offence and money can be spent elsewhere like the secondary, OLB, offensive line or even QB

No doubt, Chambers, McMichael & some of the O-linemen are way overpaid in terms of their cap #. They need to give up some $$ - but it will be interesting to see. We may cut them outright if we are confident in signing other players on the market. Or, we'll ask them to renegotiate and reduce their # - with some bonus $$ incentives.

This will also be the case with Carter. He may well be released - though I think the team wants him back. He's a high character player and a decent DE. But, he's not a $6.5 million DE!

It is useful to understand the nature of the contracts for the Bold/underlined players. These have a standard-practice, short-term, free agent deal. We signed them all "on the cheap" for the previous year.

The figures for this year were much higher than last, as a benefit to both the club and the player. Every team has players like this. We get them for 1-2 years relatively cheaply, but they either get a big bump in salary if they play well and we keep them; or they know they will go back into free agency if their production does not live up to their future deal. Some may re-sign with us. It is designed to give the player some freedom for signing a cheap deal in year one.

I don't think we'll have much interest in Harrington, Anderson, Wilkerson or Hill. Though Hill has the best shot at coming back. His job will be up for grabs, imo, with Jason Allen in the mix. Allen should take over that starting slot at S.

all the bold players are very likely to be traded or cut.....

Plus others such as Mare, wilkinson, JT and ZT might restructure!!!

all the bold players are very likely to not be on the team next year.....so ur thread is pointless!!!

Plus other such as Mare, wilkinson, JT and ZT might restructure!!!

I wouldn't call it pointless, but none of us really know what the organization is going to do. It's nice to see the cost of these players. It does kind of let you know who MIGHT be on the chopping block.

Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor may only have a few seasons left, so having them restructure doesn't make a lot of sense unless it came out of absolute necessity, since you'd still take the cap hit down the line. You also don't ask players like that who are still playing at a high level to take a pay cut.

Randy Mueller will fix that mess. Look for Culpepper to take a huge paycut or get his *** traded/cut; the Jets threatened the same to Pennington and he accepted the paycut.

So true i would cut down many pay checks ..
