They are probably rolling the dice on Parker finally manning up...we shall see. IF he becomes a true #1, we should be ok. Time will tell

Landry isn’t anything special and Wilson along with others will replace 170 targets for 900 yards relatively easy.

People are really going to miss 10 catches for 80 yards next year.

seems like he can do much of what Landry did for half the cost. plus he's faster, smarter and breaks more tackles. some people just like to complain...

Clubs are permitted to contact, and enter into contract negotiations with, the certified agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents upon the expiration of their 2017 player contracts at 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 14. However, a contract cannot be executed with a new club until 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 14.

Who said Miami is rebuilding? Just because they are getting rid of dead weight, overpriced players, or players with a much higher idea of what they are worth, then Miami then Miami is willing to pay, does not mean Miami is rebuilding.

Lots of WR's available in the draft. Interesting decision.

In reality they are, people have to actually make the catches, let's not act like bad qb play did not hurt his numbers

You don't eat 22 million in dead cap instead of paying your best player 26 million if you're not rebuilding. Unless you're Tannenbaum and you just really want more money to throw away.

You realize how ludicrous it sounds to say “70 less receptions at half the price”.

For me it's less the player and more the money. Wilson seems like he will be a fine player to replace Landry, but did we really need to spend 8 million a year to get this done? Bears probably would have given him the same or something similar, but still it feels like a lot for a player who didn't really produce much outside of a week 17 meaningless game with the backups.

WTF has this guy done to warrant $8mm per year? We already have a speedy midget on the team - adding another one? This team is a couple of cuts away (Jones, Wake) from getting beaten in the trenches in the Lingerie League on weekly basis. Welcome to the new era of the Miami Dolphins - the pussification era. Mike Tannenbaum is a mother ****ing asshat.

He killed the Broncos No Fly Zone defense at the end of the year and is much faster than Landry, without all the drama. I love it.

I like it. I think he can do anything that Jarvis did here, maybe with a little less flare and fancy cutbacks... For much less money (although 8 is a tad high, but its FA, name of the game, better than 16m)

The biggest takeaway is he has an extra gear that Landry didnt have.. it will change the dynamic of the whole passing offense (hopefully TE is coming).

I think this is more geared towards shifting the dynamic of the passing game being more vertical.

Also, expect balls to get spread around more.

Imagine DVP and Grant on one side. Stills and Wilson on the other, with Drake in the backfield. On a designed tannehill roll out, or even Playaction....... drool... could be something there. That's a lot of speed on the field. (but reality the OL will allow 2-3 defenders in immediately LOL)

This is why this team will never win. They won't pay a guy like Landry 14mil a year but they will pay this guy 8mil a year for half the production. Just fvcking sign your own guy who was one of like 3 good players on this roster.

How is a player that has 7 tds compared with Landry 22, 1544 yards compared with Landry 4038 which computes for 30 to 38% of Landrys productivity over the same span, worth almost 60% of what Landry requested???????? Stupid coach and stupid front office. We are a joke! He is far from a Kenny Stills and still got almost the same money. I would be surprised if we score more points than 5 other teams next season.

Landry’s never been that wide open vertically. Hell, has Landry ever gone vertical in our offense?

Lol! I like Landry but he’s gone and it's time to move on.

Significant to note that it looks like there was strong demand for Wilson to be snapped up early for $8M per season. It appears that Gase and the talent evaluators looked at all options and wanted Albert as the replacement for Jarvis.

I just love how some people think this was a good signing at 8 million per. He made like 1.75. Million the previous year in free agency and a dozen more catches have him getting a 500 percent raise lol

Want to do some math? Landry was our top target on his 4 years with us while Wilson was not even the third target on his 4 years with Kansas City. Sorry still not doing math but I think it is so obvious

That’s also how a slot WR is supposed to be used. Not parading as a #1 when your skills aren’t worth it.

The Dolphins have been one of the lowest scoring teams for the greater part of this last decade.

It's got nothing to do with Jarvis Landry, who is the best second round pick we've drafted in the last decade, and everything to do with not having a good enough coach or quarterback.

So if Landry got targeted 161 times and made 112 catches, that means a guy like Wilson who caught 42 passes on 62 attempts, won’t put up similar numbers? Lots of guys can give us 8 yards per catch, I think Wilson put up over 13 yards per catch.

And Landry wants more than that, so how does offering $14m a year enter into the conversation? Not to mention, what hasn't been reported: what was Landry's demands around guarantees, bonuses, etc.

Of course he can with another 40 receptions. Let's not act like he has had that avg every season or he never averaged less than 10 a reception. I guarantee he won't get half of the receptions and his average will not be any worse than Landry for his career.

It’s one thing when you catch 66% of your targets being a complimentary player and another when everyone in the building knows the ball is going to you. Rooting for the kid just think we over paid for unproven production. He basically got the same per year deal as Stills - a proven playmaker at the time. I don’t get it.

Agree. This narrative is annoying. He only had that horrible average last year w that horrible QB back there. People here seem to believe not only did he decide to run his own routes, he also called the plays.

In 4 seasons his average was 16.3, 12.9, 9.0 and 13.2 so slightly better than Landry.
