Baker- Undrafted Free Agent out of Auburn. Has been on the Dolphin practice squad for the last couple of years. Has the speed of a gazelle. Led Auburn in recieving in his senior season. Got busted for being a notorious drug dealer on campus. Killed his NFL Career.

Baker

Baker has been around a couple years.
He's been on practice squad and such.
He almost made the team 2 or 3 years ago as a kick returner, but, blew out a knee.
He has fought injury since.
He is always there as traning camp fodder, but, you have to give him credit for still giving it a try.
He will most likely challenge for a spot on the team as a return specialist and backup WR.

I can't believe how much money even players like Baker make. He makes hundreds of thousands of dollars to do virtually nothing! It's crazy. He's going to make more money this year than Griese, Csonka, etc. probably ever made in a season.

Ogden really isn't that good...but I gotta give him credit. He is the only Phin I can remember who has taken a kick to the"house" since oh...92 or 93 when OJ was doing it.

Yeah but he fumbles so much, must punt returners get to see that lucky day when they take one to the house. Ogden must have had great blocking and a lot of luck when he took it all the way to the end zone. I don't remember it, but it could of happened.

It was last year against Green Bay...He actually ran the wedge pretty good. But that was a rarity....he does fumble and fair catch a lot

Robert Baker is a good player. I was really excited about him two years ago, but he popped his ACL. He made some great deep catches against the Bucs at the O.B. in those pre season scrimmages.

This is good, as he is fast, and will see game action.

Agree 87. Baker has always been one of my "Rudy's". A personal fav of mine.

I watched Robert Baker throughout training camp back in 1999. And he most CERTAINLY would have made the team if he wouldn't have torn his ACL. No doubt about it. He had speed, hands, everything athletic. He just looked so good out there.

As for the trouble he got into......Baker has completely changed his life. As a matter of fact, I remember reading an article last year about him. He said his goal in life was to make the active roster so that he could be a great example for his little brother (who is about 12 or so). That you can change your life for the better if you work hard at it.

It was really a touching thing to read. And I really loved seeing him finally make the active roster down the stretch.

Although I agree that Ogden is expendable, I'm pretty sure signing Baker isn't the signal to the end of his tenure. Baker's been around the 'Fins for quite a while so he'll have to show something to make the active roster.

Didn't he actually catch the hail-mary against the Bucs in that one preseason game?

I believe he caught that pass from Quinn. Baker has competed for PR duties in the past. He was another JJ pick up.
