when are we going to strike up some WR trades to maybe get more depth at CB and OL?

There have been rumours and the cowboys tried to get one off of the broncos, that got nixed....we've got so many guys, and we will not be able to keep them all, so why not dangle some of them out there on the line?

and who should we get?

There was an article in the Sun-Sential about that topic today. It said that we have been trying and we might strike a deal with the Cowboys. If we do strike a trade with someone, I think it will be draft picks. My question is, who do you think we will end up trading? I think that Russell and Camball (sp?) are two people that could end up else where.

I would be interested in a DB in danger of being cut- Matt Ware of the Eagles. He is a big guy, that can play both CB and S. They don't have much depth at WR, and apparently just lost Bloom to the IR. So maybe a return man/WR would interest them, for a guy they won't be keeping anyway. Frank Murphy, perhaps?

We should trade Fred Gibson. He has the most potential to barely miss making the team.

Do we really have deptt, or just a bunch of potential. Welker was barely used at 3rd WR vick has never player, guys like murphy, campbell, russell have no trade value. To make it worth our time and actually UPGRADE our secondary we would have to move booker, which I don't see happening.

I think we have enough depth at wr to trade away a player who might not make the squad anyway, or end up on the practice squad. Let's make a deal and get some more depth where we really need it.

I agree. no one will trade an impact/upgrade player for one of those WR's. Moving Booker is fine with me. Murphy, Campbell, et all, can easily fill his shoes and we could probably get an OL for Booker.

Guys, you are missing the point. Nobody is saying we would add an impact player. But it happens quite a bit this time of year, where teams trade guys who likely won't make their squad in return for a guy who may not make the other team's roster. For example, recall the deal in which we acquired Kris Richard from the Seahawks for a DE that was not going to make the team. It gives you some extra time to see if a guy has something, rather than waiting for final cuts at which point it is really too late. For example, like I said, we need depth in the secondary and Philly may want to take a look at a WR/Return man. Thus, a deal like Matt Ware for Frank Murphy could make sense. Both guys likely wont make their teams, and who knows, they may not even make the team they are dealt to. But at the very least, it provides some extra competition at positions of need.

thank you.

Trading a guy who can't make an NFL roster for another guy who can't make a team....THIS COULD BE HUGE FOR US!!! C'mon, what we have now is what we must win with. Near every player in our secondary can play cb/s we are fine.

Would it make more sense to just let the player get cut and not lose anything?

Are you an NFL personnel guy? How do you know what constitutes trade value?
There are many players every year who are traded for 4th-7th rd draft picks. Not all trades make headlines, usually only the ones involving name players.
According to the article several teams have inquired about some of our WR's. I guess they have a less informed evaluation process than you do.

i think every week you guys pick a different position to complain about. how don't we have depth at OL? did you guys miss the free-agent period when we signed all those lineman?.. a guy like Pearson who started in Jacksonville is a back up.. so is Seth McKinney, Wade Smith, Damion McIntosh.. they all have starting experience.. i left for a week and came back when i left it was LB we needed to upgrade now its CB/OL?? let saban worry about it, if he feels we need depth he'd get it cuz if he didnt he wouldn't be the coach now would he.
