how do you guys think they will plan into our future. Playmakers, good solid NT's, or we need to upgrade? I personally think we might have gotten a steal in R. Wright and from all I hear about Evans he could be really good after some experience. Do you really buy all this talk that we need to get younger at the NT spot when we have these guys?

All three have legit potential. Good things are being said about Evans(Capers said he would start at nose before they resigned Traylor) and he should get significant playing time this year and hopefully will show that hes Traylor's replacement and shore up the Nose Tackle position. Manny Wright showed flashes of being a great player, but hes hasn't played in a year and his motivation will always be a question mark, but if positive things happen with him and he gets his weight down IMO he could develop into the Richard Seymour of our defense. Rod Wright went from a Top 20 prospect to being drafted in the 7th due to an injury so you dont really know what your getting in Rodrique. But Rod could be a great 3-4 DE to add in the rotation.

I thought that Evans looked great from what little I saw last year. He looked quick, active, and got good penetration. The Wright brothers- the talent is there, hopefully they take off. I think that Manny will do better under Cameron than Saban. The whole Saban act of ripping him a new one in practice and then coddling him when talking to the media must have pissed Manny off something fierce. Saban seemed to morph from Rasputin into Mrs. Doubtfire, I feel sorry for his kids.

yea i hope so, i think if they were to all play atleast some of what there potential is supposed to be we would have a great core of young players on the defensive side of the ball in Crowder, Daniels, Roth, Allen, and those three, and Y. Bell

I agree that the potential is there, hopefully this is the year that one or two of them will step up and solidify themselves as a starter. I don't know that Mueller and Cameron are comfortable enough with them to not take a young talented DT in the draft if the right one is there for us. It would be nice to not have to take one in the first round though.

----Just to be clear, Manny and Rodrique are not related

Well I would hope that every TRUE Dolphins fan would have known that

Agreed. I dont believe MIA will draft a NT as I previously thought. With the re-signing of Traylor to a two year contract to start at NT and Vickerson to play Holiday's backup at RE, I believe that MIA will see what they have in Evans and Manny Wright at NT.

I think that we will go into the season with a depth chart of Traylor as your starter...with Evans and Manny Wright battling it out for backup and 3rd string spots at NT.

If they both impress this year, then we know that they will be our NT rotation of the future. If one or both show that they are backups at best...then we can draft one in the 1st or 2nd round in 2008.

Or maybe one slides to backup RE behind Holiday.

So I would hold on drafting a NT this year.

I see Rod Wright as battling it out with Roth for the starting and backup LE spot. Vickerson should battle it out for backup RE spot. Or just slide to 3rd string backup L/RE

I definitely don't think our need at DT is as huge as some have been making it out to be. I'm pretty optimistic about the young players we have in there, not to mention the fogies that are still good enough to maintain the position until these guys are ready.

I agree except I think Manny Wright should only be an emergency NT. I think his talents would be more suited to play RE like Richard Seymour for the Pats. Wright just needs to keep his weight down probably at the 310 range. I just fear if they do exclusively play him as a nose he'll get lazy and let his weight balloon up. But as long as he contributes to the team I'm fine with what ever he plays.

Put it this way. If at the end of the day, we can say of these three, "Two Outta Three Ain't Bad," then we'll be able to answer the question of how we are going to replace all of our old D-lineman!

Rodrique Wright and Evans will certainly contribute next year I have little doubt. Manny is a huge question mark but IF he gets into shape and keeps his head on straight we could have a winner there too, he certainly has the physical tools, just needs more desire, drive and conditioning.

yes i know this isnt the draft board spot or whatever, this is just 1 comment though, i dont think we will draft a NT becouse of the depth there, ok whew that was quick had to make sure i didnt get this thing moved or something..LOL...anyways, or go after a free agent, i dont think NT is a need anymore, I think the Wrights and Evans are going to be FINE, and actually i think most of the so-called "experts" are going to say in a year "Ive been saying all along that the NT position was a strength for Miami" when actually theyve been saying the opposite. LOL, but isnt that what they normally do?!
