Think about that for a second. If you were an NFL employee and were offered a job as an NFL GM, would you turn it down if you felt the team could succeed? Hell no you wouldnt. And no one else who hasnt already had success at that level would either.

Obviously I couldve simply created a poll and almost everyone wouldve voted that of course they would take the job if they knew they would have success. Thats the whole point isnt it? The whole point of working is to build your way to the top and be viewed as successful. If you are the GM of a team that wins, you are successful. So despite all of the circumstances people are throwing out there as excuses for all of these candidates either straight up declining to interview for the Dolphins GM spot or the handful of people who turned the job down after interviewing, these people had to feel like it would not be possible to have success as the GM of the Dolphins.

How can that be denied? Are people really going to turn down a job at the highest position in the league just because of Aponte, Ross, Philbin, or the working relationship? Of course they arent. If these candidates felt they could WIN with the Dolphins, they would take the job.

So why is it these candidates feel like they couldnt have won as GM of the Dolphins? Is it really Ross etc etc.... Of course that could be part of it. But, lets get real. Its pretty obvious that any team with a great QB is going to win in this league. If youre in the Patriots office, youre going to be a winner. Youre going to have success. Why? Because that team is going to WIN so long as Tom Brady is the QB. Look at the garbage they put out there on the field this year. They lost their 2 best defensive players to injury, and their 3rd best(Talib) was injured most of the year. They had no name and rookie WRs. Their best 3 pass catching weapons from last year were gone(Gronk played a few games). Yet, they STILL managed to go to the AFC title game. Why? TOM BRADY.

Look at all the years we had garbage around Marino. Yet, in 17 seasons, Marino had ONE losing season. When you have a great QB, youre going to WIN.

So just maybe we DO NOT have a young Tom Brady at QB here. If we did, would people who are trying to work their way up the NFL ladder turn down the job as Dolphins GM over some nonsense with Aponte or Ross? I dont think so. I think people would jump at the chance to be GM of a team they felt could WIN. Because that is the whole point is it not?

No matter the conditions with Ross, Aponte, or Philbin, if a guy thought he could come here and have success as the GM, there is no way in hell he would turn the job down. No way. And if a guy TRULY thought we had a young Tom Brady already in place at QB, he wouldnt turn the job down because everybody knows that if a team is on the verge of having a QB be Tom Brady, they are going to have success, SUSTAINED success, for a long time. Thats what every GM wants. Thats what everyone aspiring to be a GM wants. They want to have success at the highest position in the NFL. No way they turn down an opportunity like that.

Again, I couldve just created a poll, everyone wouldve of course said YES they would take a job as a GM in a heartbeat if they thought the team would win for a long time, and then I wouldve had everyone who answered YES in CHECK MATE. Shouright wouldve done it that way and it wouldve been masterful. However, Im not Shouright. I dont operate that way. This is a GET REAL thread and we simply deliver the truth.

Its a straight up FACT that despite what you may want to believe, other GMs and potential GMs around the NFL simply DO NOT believe the Miami Dolphins have a QB in place who is a young Tom Brady. Because if they really did believe that, there isnt a chance in hell that GM position wouldve been open for so long. We wouldve never been turned down by so many people and had to settle for a candidate on the bottom of our wish list. Thats FACTS.

So question Ross and the organizational structure all you want. Its true that all of that was a factor in this GM mess. But, the bottom line is that if these candidates thought they could win here, they wouldve overlooked all of that stuff to become a successful GM. And if they thought the QB here was as good as so many of you would love to believe he is, we wouldve been turning away most of the people we interviewed and the very top prospects wouldve been lining up for the job. Because its a straight up fact that any team with a stud QB in the NFL is going to have long term success no matter what draft picks or FAs the GM brings in. It would be a no lose situation for anyone who took the GM job if Tannefail were indeed a young Tom Brady. People in the NFL OBVIOUSLY do not believe he is.

from the outside looking the problems the dolphins are having looks to have everything to do with stephen ross and not much to do with the teams qb. ross is trying to saddle the gm with stipulations that are causing the candidates to balk abnd walk away from interviews and job offers.

Isn't the GM the one who is supposed to find good players ? If a GM was confident in his ability wouldn't he feel like he could find a good qb if one was not already in place ? That is his job isn't it ? I don't buy this argument. It is well documented that the org structure is the concern. It is a real problem and now we have to wait 3 years for the reset button to be pushed. Lets just hope Ross learns from his mistakes this time around.

I actually am hoping and think we do have a "young Tom Brady" for our QB.. Hotter wife too

Success is never guaranteed.

Meh. I guarantee that so long as Tom Brady is healthy, the Pats will find a way to win at least 9 games every year. You can bank on it.

Why would you? Why would anyone really?

Exactly. Living in denial is much more comfortable than living in reality.

If that was the case the new GM should come in and draft his own QB etc. You know take over like a 'Boss' and run with the opportunity.

Really going out on a limb there. Miami almost won 9 games this year. Why don't you at least drop your balls and be a little more bold on your guarantees? Besides, what happens if New England wins 9 games and New York wins 10 and thus takes the division? Would that be considered "success" for New England? Because after all, they won 9 games!

You make the most obvious post that requires a paragraph. Yet you make it a essay.

Of course we don't have a young Tom Brady as a qb, no one ever will again. I'm so happy you pointed out this once unknown fact for everybody here.

Greatly appreciated.

LIKE A BOSS!!! Could be worse I could be some self important noob who writes a series of nonsensical garbage and attach a lame catch phrase to them.

Because that is risky. There is no guarantee of success in that circumstance. Throw in all of the turmoil with Ross and Aponte and you can see why people turned the job down. They know its a complete rebuild with the deck stacked against them.

However, if they felt the QB was already in place and he was a cant miss, young, Tom Brady, people wouldve jumped at the chance to be the GM here no matter Ross and any of that other stuff. Because if the QB is a young Tom Brady, youre going to win a lot more often than you lose no matter what you do with the draft picks and you will be looked upon as a success.

Youre not completely wrong. I couldve made the point in a simple paragraph.

Youre right on that we do not have a young Tom Brady. However if you think that is an unknown fact around these parts, there mustve been plenty of other posts you DID NOT READ around here. Plenty of people seem to be under the impression that Tannefail is a HOFer in the making. Its absurd. OBVIOUSLY people around the league DO NOT believe that. Because again, OBVIOUSLY, if they did, people wouldve been lining up for the chance to be our GM.
