I think that's great news, I want to keep our special players. And hopefully a new GM and new coach will be able to utilize them properly on a consistent basis. I personally hope Grier never makes another decision that affects the Miami Dolphins ever again, and the new GM can decide Flores fate.

I think this likely means that Grier + Flo feel like they're jobs are safe and they'll get another offseason to retool this team for a run. They want X for next year.

thats messed up. Howard is getting older, he hasnt looked so good recently, we arent winning with him, so you may as well get something for him now while you can.

it would take a halfway competent G.M. to trade the one guy, who doesn't want to be here btw, for a return like Von Miller just got (2nd and 3rd) so of course buffoon Grier isn't interested. Maybe he's like, no point helping the next G.M. after I'm fired. And Ross is too stupid and simply doesn't care to notice. What a train wreck this organization is. Just embarrassing.

I was merely providing the other side of the argument to the above quote. I figure a GM who is as good as gone would be more likely to leave the team in its current state, while a GM who thinks he is safe would build draft capital to fix the holes on this roster.
Depends on how quick you can right the ship. If Flo and Grier think with one more offseason they'll have a legit contender on your hands, then you keep X, because he's one of the top CBs in the football and you want him for your run. If you start selling off major assets, however, it's usually a good sign the regime is admitting that a more major retooling is needed and you're still a couple years away from contending.
