How did he look tonight?

I didn't see the game either. I'm assuming that no news is good news?

He hit hard and showed some good speed. I'm excited to see how he does next week.

I think Howard and Drake looked decent, but showed they still need work as you might expect seeing this was their first action.

All I know about Howard is what I've read from his scouting report (super quick but not really fast down the field, shows amazing ability some plays, looks awful on some others). Didn't get to see tonight's game yet. It seemed fairly good considering his name wasn't mentioned much. Can't wait to see him next week though. Going to really need him and McCain to really step it up throughout the season. Need some quality young guys at CB developed from our own roster. Really miss the days of Surtain and Madison...

He reminded me a bit of Jamar Taylor. Looked like a strong tackler but not really a ball hawk. Very limited sample size

I think he did well for his first game. Tackled better than our LBs

I thought he looked pretty good. Definitely not a great sample against 3's but I also don't see how anyone could be negative about him from what they saw last night. He surely has quickness.

also thought there's no way to be anything but intrigued by Drake. Didn't look hampered at all and showed really good vision and power.

I think Drake could have returned that second kick off to the house if he didn't trip himself up.

howard played well I thought, albeit against #2's and 3's....he got to cover kendall hunter a buncha times and looked pretty good as far as his fluidity and cutting etc...he did have a 3rd down pass completed to his guy, he was all over the guy and it did get wiped anyway for an offensive holding...i think he let up one more completion to his man, a quick screen pass that he looked great on as far as closing in and tackling the guy...looked good as a tackler and I think should be our starter opposite maxwell no question...i like tony lipett and had a nice INT but he isnt consistent enough yet...WHY ON EARTH WERE WE PLAYING MCCAIN ON THE BOUNDARY the guy clearly cannot play CB unless its in the slot for crying out loud

As far as Drake, he showed some flashes of what he can do. It's his first game and he needs to get his legs back. He even said he's not 100% back yet. On that return he stumbled on I believe his legs just kind of game up on him. Again, this is due to not playing for so long. If he was 100% healthy and in FOOTBALL shape he'd have taken that one to the house but even at 80% he still got open. I believe him and Grant will give us some great plays out there. As far as Carroo, he seems to catch everything they throw to him. I believe he will be another playmaker for us. Next draft has to be about defense thought. Need LBs and one more corner for sure. Ajayi has been disappointing. Not getting yards with no blocking in front is one thing but a fumble and dropping passes is not good.
