Seriously,

We've all been saying this for 2 years now, but Yeremiah Bell makes plays. He screwed but bigtime on that Roughing the passer play, but recovered nicely forcing a fumble. One particular play comes to mind where he blitzed up the middle (3rd Q i think), the guy couldn't have timed the blitz any better.

Capers has done a great job with this D. Remember at the beginning of the year how our blitzes were so ineffective? We couldn't get off the field on 3rd down. Now look at us.

I love this team... too bad we started so poorly. :(

that roughing the passer was complete BS (as so many are). he wrapped him around the waist and took him to the ground. it wasn't late, and it wasn't malicious. nothing more a defender could do to not draw a flag this side af Mathias Kiwanuka!!

Agreed... and Saban/Capers think so as well. On 3rd downs, we were bringing in JAllen for Bell... putting Hill and JAllen at the S coverage positions. However, we were leaving Bell in the game and moving him to the Nickleback/NickleLB, using him to blitz.

Bell was great blitzing. That roughing was BS... But I guess things even out when they called roughing on them when Joey tripped over the DL.

It seems to me like roughing the passer has boiled down to this: not touching the quarterback after he releases the ball is the only way to make sure you aren't called for it.

How about JAllen taking Ben Watson out? I liked that hit.

I agree!
I watch that replay and just couldn't see any fault. they said he threw him to the ground and that is what drew the flag. And was it just me and my Father or did you guys see that weird screw up by the refs when the Pats got an extra down after the Forward pass penalty.

not that it mattered because we turned it over anyway on a fumble :)

If we add Nate Clements or Asante Samuel!! our Secondary can be scary!!

CB- Asante/ Nate
CB- Will Allen
FS- Yeremiah Bell
SS- Jason Allen

Travis Daniels renaldo Hill Andre Goodman Provide good depth

The only thing I can think of was that the penatly wasnt a loss of down, like a holding, or false start or something...But yeah, I think they screwed up big...I wonder if you can challenge something like that...Hopefull rich gives it to that J**A** Perierra on NFL total access
