2007 (rookie season)

Tied for #1 on the team in touchdown catches (2). Ranked #2 in yardage (420). With our QB/O-Line/Cam Cameron's coaching that year, we didn't exactly throw many touchdown passes....

His overall combined yardage (2086yds) was the most by a rookie in dolphins history.

Punt return average was 4'th in the AFC, and 6'th in the entire NFL (very impressive return stats, proved he could be an elite punt returner) also brought 1 punt back for a TD (87 yards), which is the longest punt return TD in Dolphins history. Had 2 kickoff return TD's that did not stand, both called back due to holds that didn't even affect the play.

2008 #1 on the team in receptions (56), #1 in yardage (790). 2 TD's.....Pennington plays a dink a dunk short passing style of offense. When we get in the red zone, the ball gets spread out even MORE (pennington loves to throw to RB's and TE's in the redzone, done it his entire career)

added 5 carries for 73 yards and 2 TDs, to give you an idea of how rare rushing TD's are for receivers, these were the 4th and 5th ones in dolphins history, and Ginn is the only dolphins receiver to ever have more than 1rushing TD in his career.

I think this at least shows he has SOME big play potential, and that people are overreacting to his poor performance the last 2 games.

If other teams looked at these numbers, and with our horrible horrible offense in 2007, I think they would see the same potential that ginn supporters still see.. Give him a chance to gel with Henne maybe?

I beleive most fans will agree with you on the potential no doubt. In terms of working with Henne he will get his chance I think he will be more effective than with Chadd Pennington.

I believe what many fans are upset about is his precieved lack of courage in a game that requres alot. Early this year I think preseason I thought he might have gotten over it when he went accross the middle of the field leaped and snagged a ball in mid air exposing his body to 2 defenders. Great catch and courage. But that has been the exception not the rule and agains Indy when he had all those catches he was running out of bounds before the hit on many of them. Toughen up is the word here on Ginn and then he will be good to go.

I'll give you this, your mother didn't raise a quitter.

I'll give him a chance to blend with Henne, but those stats tell me little to nothing.

Even if it was tied for the team lead in 2007, two touchdowns does not impress me. Neither does 420 yards. Those numbers are less than mediocre.

Overall combined yardage includes the 87 kick/punt returns he had that year, so I wouldn't give him too much credit on that one either. While I do respect his return abilities, the Dolphins have been on and off with using him back there anyway.

There's no question that Ginn has the ability to be a playmaker. What his critics say, however, are that he is not a number one receiver. When thinking about receivers taken later in that same draft, (Brandon Marshall, Steve Smith, Steve Breaston Dwayne Bowe) I got very depressed.

I definitely agree he has ducked out of bounds a few times when he should have tried to turn it upfield and break the tackle.

Some of the times though would be the difference of like half a yard of offense or a CB/Safety in full stride about to hit you while you're standing still, in those cases I am all for him ducking out of bounds and avoiding the hit (especially if he's already past the first down marker)

What your showing people is the big play ability Ginn has, the clowns that want to get rid of Ginn would cry next year we have no one to make a big play in the passing game.

Most fans can't get over the fact that Ginn isn't the number 1 they want him to be let alone expect him to be. I think it does nothing to help the team getting rid of Ginn, he can only help us long term. Henne needs his outside speed and given time they could get some chemistry that never happened with Pennington.

I agree with all this but I don't see why the fans are bashing Ginn, instead of Cam Cameron and his staff. They were the ones who chose him so high, they were the ones who ran the team that almost was the worst in NFL history. Ginn was simply asked to come in and help the dolphins team overall, he ended up doing pretty well for what he had around him to help in 2007, and in 2008 he put up pretty decent numbers. These next 12 games will tell a lot I guess..

Ginn is not a go to guy does not have the big paly capabilities.

I'm still in Ginn's corner as well. Anyone here hoping he has a bad game?

Look we are all "in Ginn's corner" no one wants him to have a bad game. But thinking his is a true #1/game changer/ go to guy/ big play guy is just a waste of time IMO.

I'm turning on Ginn cause I think he's a bust. He has proven this year and last year that he is capable of making plays. What is frustrating me is that he doesn't fight for extra yards (Colts game is a good example. He made some clutch catches for first downs, but there were a lot of catches that could have gone for more yards but he would start to go down on his own instead of take the contact) and that he needs a perfect pass to make a catch. Yeah last year he made some decent catches (his TD and flea flicker against the Jets, and the TD against Seattle) and he's capable of it today (showed flashes this preseason), but there have been instances where the ball will hit his hands and he either drops it or just gets a hand on it.

I can deal with not catching difficult balls, but look at the drops he's had with Henne at QB. Not great throws by Henne, but they either hit him right in the hands, or in the numbers, and he just dropped the ball.

Teddy is very talented, he just needs to get tougher.

Sure you were reading posts on this forum the past few weeks?

Every WR has drops. I saw the one "drop" from Henne in slow mo, freeze frame. The ball was tipped, and came to Ginn about two inches off the ground. Dan (must have very embarrassing pics of a TV exec) Fouts said he has to make that catch I do not believe Rice makes that catch more than 2 or 3 times out of 10.
