I know all the talk is on QBs right now, but thought there should be at least one thread on the 1st page about Yeremiah Bell - released. Team captain. Great guy. I know Philbin's rebuilding and Bell's old, so it's not much of a shock, but it's still sad.
 
another quality pro past his prime out the door...had to happen i guess but still tough to see bell go...now get smart ireland and move reshad jones to strong safety

Bell can still play so they should let him stay a Phin, now who will play S now?
 
Bottom line, cap number is too high. That can be said about a lot of players and is a reason why a 6-10 team was only 13-15 mill below the cap and don't even have a franchise QB's salary to absorb.
The Pats are paying 19 mill to Brady, reworked Willforks deal last yr and just franchised Welker, yet had the money to sign a DT (from the Bengals), Brandon Lloyd and Robert Gallery.
 
We all knew this was coming,I liked Bell and maybe we can resign him on the cheap. I do however love how we waited until Landry signed with the Jets before releasing him,Jets would have been all over Bell
