On the 80 yd pass to Dallas Clark, Yeremiah Bell seemed oblivious to the fact that the ball was in the air, and Dallas Clark was about to make a catch.

The ball is actually past Yeremiah Bell, and he's still running the wrong way.

Wilson should have made the tackle too.. How Bell had no idea the ball was in the air after looknig right at the LOS i have no idea

yeah he was bolting for the sideline after realizing he left his lights on. im not sure if he made it back before the game was over or not because i dont remember hearing his number called for making any plays.

I know lots of fans like Bell because of his tackling & run support.

But I've always found his lack of interceptions to be disturbing (6th season, only 1 interception).

He actually led the team in tackles (5), so he was around.

CUT HIM!!!! He's garbage.........just trying to predict what others will say

YB was watching Peyton Manning and thought the ball was going to the WR coming from the right under him, and the ball went over him.

This is what Tony was saying would happen all week if the DB's were looking in the backfield at Peyton Manning, kind of funny/sad it happen on the 1st play.

If that's true, then that shows Yeremiah Bell's mentality.. he goes for the tackle, not for the ball.

Because when the ball is in the air, a safety like Ed Reed thinks "that ball is mine", and he goes for the ball.

From that shot the only player who seemed zoned in on what was going on was Wilson who missed the tackle.

The game plan appeared to be to shut down Reggie Wayne which they really did in the beginning of the game but they appear a bit oblivous to Gates.

Much like the Atlanta game when Turner came in they shut him down in the running game. (Which was objective #1) But when Turners backup came in he actually ran the ball much better than Turner.

So far if this defence is focused on shutting down an option on the opposing team it can get the job done its just not good enough to shut down multible options.

With Will Allen, Sean Smith, Vontae Dave and yes Bell we should be able to start getting that done sooner than later. I think Culver is decent to in the nickle and in the dime really Jones is pretty good. We are not that far away. You just gotta hope that the Wilson puzzle gets figured out pretty soon.

what made me even more upset on that play was not only wilson missing the tackle was Akin basically giving up after he thought wilson had his man.......what happened to the fire? where is the gang tackles, come on man......I don't care if 7 guys were on him I expect our guys all trying to get to the ball.....

That is part of his mentality, for sure.

YB is a very good player when he's not very far from the line of scrimmage, but once you ask him to play like a FS things like this will start to happen.

That's kind of why he a SS and not a FS,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but this year they are asking both him and Wilson to play both FS and SS and nether is a FS.So this is going to go on all year tell they have Wilson play as just a FS 100% of the time, but then again Wilson has already showed he isn't a FS in the NFL.

Apparently Akin was injured for that game (injured back, questionable).

So I guess it makes sense that Peyton Manning would test him right off the bat.

Jesus is the answer to all of our mistakes is cut him? i guess we should cut tgj for his two drops. I can understand maybe sitting him down and let someone behind him give it a go or do some position changing, but cutting people never works for us. They just go to other teams and they use them the right way.

Maybe he was concerned about HIS assignment, not Wilsons

exactly... i think the issue was Bell WASNT looking in the backfield at the QB, he was watching his assignment and saw him coming across the middle so he came down on him... he didn't see when Peyton released the ball and didn't notice it till it was in the air...

these guys are 15-20 yards away from the QB with massive bodies between themselves and the QB... they cant just be trying to stare at the QB all day when they have responsibilities to maintain... you can do that when you play a zone, or if he was playing a rover safety position, but obviously he had his assignment and saw him coming across the middle with steps on Allen... if Bell isn't cutting in on him and the ball does go there its a huge gain...

he was handling his responsibility, i dont see the big deal here
