Yeremiah Bell

that good for not starting half the season

He didn't start for half the season, but he was still on the field a lot. I mean, he's doing a great job, but it's not like he didn't have chances to get pd's the 1st half of the season. He was in on a bunch of obvious passing downs.

Sean Jones was a great safety prospect that fell to some unfortunate injuries in his first few years in the league. I for one am happy to see him having success.

Bell displayed all the reasons he is what he is this Sunday. He was all over the place tackling, recovered a fumble, think he had another pass defensed...but also he totally screwed up his coverage angles like 3 different times and even bumped into other players.

Props to Y-Bell. He is getting better and more confident with every game. Once a few guys start stepping it up on D, it gives confidence to everyone else and we start forcing fumbles and INT's. I think we have the 2nd best D behind the Bears right now. :dolphins:

Hmm. I love him but I think he had his best week against the Bears, his second best week against the Chiefs, and his third best week against the Vikings...

I'm not saying the trend will continue but I don't think I'd feel comfortable saying he's gotten better every week either lol.

You're right he has been a little inconsistent, but I think Y-Bell and our secondary as a whole is playing with confidence and gelling together more with every game. We are not seeing guys totally blow coverages, or getting a lot of the pass interference calls we were getting earlier. I wish I could watch the games in person, as you can't really see what the secondary is doing that well watching it on tv. But all in all, the secondary has looked pretty good.

Actually I saw Bell blow his coverage a few times, just thankfully not deep :)

That's his primary problem is taking bad angles. On one he got confused about where he should be and got picked by one of our own defenders and we allowed a crucial third down conversion.

That will happen.

Thankfully, he'll also make a lot of big plays and bat down a lot of passes heh.

I've said since last year that Yeremiah was as good as any safety in football and I was right. Saban, who's supposed to specialize in DB's, figured this out after a year and a half. Yeremiah has dominated the last three games. Without him the Dolphins proabably lose 2 of those games. He's as good as Reed or Polamalu. Yeremiah leads the league in passes defensed per play, tackles per play, forced fumbles per play etc. Remember he's only played full time in three games, all wins and two against the NFL's top offenses.

LOL. Thanks man. There are a lot of folks that do think I'm biased. In response I'd say that I'm not biased, I'm certain. :)

In Saban's defense, a lot of the plays he's making right now are plays he would have made in his old role as dime safety because when we go dime he still goes back to his old job and a lot of the plays he is making are in those situations.

Also I think Jason Allen is coming along real well. It looks like that period where he never played may have done some good for him because he's playing confident and really attacking the ball.

Hey CK the only bias you have is about "you" being right all the time.
Just kidding, your observation about J Allen is a good one, he is playing better all the time, also Joey's WTF moment in every game, when it happens I think of you CK, how right you were.
