our defense didn't allow a touchdown for the 3rd straight game, and a lot of that can be attributed to the field position battle that was helped greatly by Brandon Fields and Dan Carpenter.

Fields had 5 punts, with 3 of them placed inside the 15, including one at the 4 yard line. at one point we had to punt from our 17 yard line, and he booted a 52-yarder.

Carpenter missed a field goal, but he had 3 kickoffs, and all 3 of them went into the endzone, with 2 of them being touchbacks.

all in all, the Niners only had 11 return yards all game.

good job by the special teams all around! :woot:

Great point, i was thinking to myself who were wearing those special teams uniforms yesterday. It really looked as if they had "turned the corner"! Great job ST's!

And for Dan, I saw a few people on here getting on his case for the 50 yrd miss. It was windy as hell and he barley missed it! He is gonna be a great one!

special teams are deffinetly getting better, now we have to get them to block on returns. I also fear the missed kicks arent good for the mental stability of a rookie kicker, no matter how good he has been doing.
