...and if you haven't figured it out yet, you soon will. I'm a born and raised diehard LSU fan and I just want to let you guys know that the Dolphins will be a mainstay in the playoffs and will be a class organization as long as Nick is there. We are now realizing the hard way at LSU just how great a coach Saban was. It's not so much that Les Miles has done a bad job so far this year at LSU, but I think everyone is just starting to notice - "he's no Saban".

I'm sure you guys are really enjoying having Saban on the sidelines and in control of that defense. One thing we LSU fans have (painfully) noticed is how much more poorly our defensive backs have been playing this year with regard to technique, as opposed to the last few years when Saban was teaching our DB's.

Good luck with Buffalo this week...

Go Fins and Geaux Tigers!

Thanks dude...We appreciate it. And we are all very happy and totally relieved to once again have the best coach in the NFL leading our team...You see, that's something we're used to..(Don Shula)

I am FULLY on the Saban bandwagon. The thing that I love is how he is seting up the entire organization to have sucsess. He isnt just a great coach himself, he has surounded himself with one of the best staffs in the league. I havnt been this exited about our team since....ever.

IMO Saban is the best thing to happen to this franchise since the Messiah, Dan the Man himself :)

yeah. thanks for the props. we all love the guy. we sort of forgot what a good coach is and how he gives your team an edge against more talented teams.

the thing i like most about him is that he doesnt rationalize defeat and is willing to take the blame as he did after the jets game.

for some reason i cant explain, i'm afraid of him leaving after a few years. i believe he is only signed for 4 years. im hoping the fins can sign him to a lifetime contract, lol. we cant expect him to stay around like shula did.

Great first post man...and welcome to the board. I am sure most of us here appreciate Saban being here. There was not ONE coach ahead of him on my wish list when I knew we were shopping. I knew he had turned down about half a dozen other NFL head coaching jobs, but one of my reasons for wanting him was the fact that that many NFL teams wanted to hire him in the first place. The national title didn't hurt. ;) He looks like the total package to me so far.I

Actually the last 2 great things for this team for me is Richmond Webb and Zach Thomas. Been pretty damn quiet since we got Zach until Saban came along.

You know I thought about mentioning a few of the standout individual players since Marino but winthin the next 1-2 years I think Saban will have a greater impact than Webb, JT, Surtain, Madison, or Zach could have made individually because he will lead us to the promised land as a team which is more than 1 individual could have brought to the table. Whatever that "it" is for a coach who pulls all the right buttons I think Saban has it.

I was surprised at the Les Miles hiring. He seems like the classic case of an offensive coach who is best served at a second tier program, where the big points will keep the team entertaining and attract a certain type of player and fan. The Texas Tech coach is of the same mold. You don't want those guys at a premier school with national championship potential, because the imbalance and flaws become quickly apparent. No way you guys blow a 21-0 lead at home with Saban, nor surrender all those points to Arizona State.

I actually wanted this guy following the 2003 season, as I was CERTAIN Wanny would be relieved of his duties.

As someone mentioned above, it is indeed a RELIEF to have a guy like this in control of our franchise. We could lose every game the rest of the year and this franchise would still command respect and prestige because of the way it's being run.

Saban has also assembled what's probably the NFL's best coaching staff. He replaced one of the most inept GM's in the league with one of the best. He helped usher in a movement to improve not only the franchise, but the stadium and practice facilities.

And despite being portrayed as a stnadoffish, non-media, no information kind of guy, we fans have been treated to more information and accessibility than ever before. I mean, how great is Dolphins Insider?? How great is Nick Saban's weekly radio show at Gatsbys?? No other coach does that. And he's an intriguiging, thought-provoking guy to listen to.

We were lead to believe that we'd never hear from a player, a coach, a front office type. Saban and only Saban.....and not to expect much from him. And yet we consistently hear from players. We've heard from the General Manager. We've heard from all kinds of people. And, of course, we've heard a great deal from Saban himself.

In short, this franchise has already been restored to elite status. Glory on the field will soon follow, as will other changes to facilities and such.

agreed we are very lucky to have Saban.....but we certainly paid the price with having Wanny.

Lucky indeed, good things come to those who wait. We brought in JJ, nothing much there, Wanny :rofl3: , and now Saban and already we see the major movements he is making, and it's still is first year. wait until next year and see what he will bring to the team.

I was very excited when we all heard Saban was coming here, and I think we all knew he was a GOOD HC. I don't think any of us, except for some of the LSU/Dolphin fans just how GREAT of a HC Saban actually is. This guy has totally changed everything that was the Miami Dolphins.

I think we have the BEST HC in all of football.
