I'm baffled by some of the members on this message board. It's easy to acknowledge Jeff Ireland's flaws as a GM, but he's not ruining this franchise by passing up on Matt Flynn. Our decision to move forward without Flynn is more of a testament to Philbin's belief that Flynn isn't starting QB material. I'm not saying the Dolphins have a plan set in stone in regards to our next quarterback, but the options still on the board are better than Flynn, that's not my opinion, that's the opinion of a head coach that's been doing this for three decades.
I understand we've been let down by coaches in the past, and Ireland isn't doing anything to help the Fins cause, but you guys need to remain patient before coming to the conclusion that this upcoming season is already over.
Ireland might not be the most sociable guy, but he's definitely got some decent scouting ability. No one is intentionally trying to sabatoge this team as much as some of you might think that's the case.
I'm honestly not extremely concerned about who will end up QB for the Fins this upcoming season. Regardless of how some of you feel about A. Smith, he's a decent option who knows the offensive system and has proven that under the right management he can be a productive winner.
All I'm saying is, give this offseason some time before calling for the front office's heads. We've got a long way to go and the draft is just around the corner. Be patient, folks.
