ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on SportsCenterThursday morning that a decision on Jeff Fisher's head-coaching future may not come until Friday.

"It sounds like we could get something by tomorrow at the latest," Schefter said. "...Neither team knows what (he) is doing right now." On Twitter, ESPN's Ross Tucker suggested Miami and St. Louis moving on from Fisher because "he's clearly not sold on either place." PFT's Mike Florio believes Fisher is still in the midst of a leverage game trying to get the best possible deal.

Starting to get a little ridiculous if this goes on until the weekend when he said he'd make a decision early this week.

I'm thinking we start interviewing more candidates. By us not doing this it's obvious that we're waiting on him, this only helps him. We should wait for no one!

come on jeff sign that huge contract ross is offering 8 million per year plus executive vp meaning he will have the upper hand over ireland when it comes to personal

Sorry folks but I want a coach that's wants to be here. Not one who is playing one side against the other for more control and financial gain.Sounds more like a politician than a coach. So ready to move on

As a Devils fans I dealt with this same thing when they signed Ilya Kovalchuk...give it time we don't need a coach right now we have no game Sunday...unfortunately. Fish you take all the time your need. I will be stuck rooting for Tebow and the GMEN!

Too be honest about this, the for timing of everything it looks better for us. But, i guess i am more concerned about the fall out from this if we dont get Fisher and how other candidates react to being second fiddle.

Maybe Philbin is our second chose and the unfortunate situation that happen may scare both him/us away from the job offer but also takes his name out of the public until his situation has been resolved with himself. I am just saying.

I would prefer Chud, but it just seems wrong that we stopped at Zimmer and not moving forward with Chud (anyone think the interview last year was enough for the team to already have their answer (yes or no))

A Dolphins fan who is also a Devils fan! Thought I was alone on here. Agreed on Kovalchuk!

It amazes me how we consider sports personalities non human. Fisher's in a position right now, probably the best position he ever will be to take the best care of himself and his family for the rest of their lives. He's mulling over the options and taking his time. Why? Because he can. I don't know why we think it would be ok for any of us to take our time, negotiate and get our best deal, but Fisher isn't allowed to do the same.

Um we have been? and we've got more scheduled already.

Not one person on here can tell me they would not do the exact thing Fisher is doing and take their time to decide their future but as Dolphin fans we want a decision yesterday.

Trust me, if you interviewed for a job and they made you and offer and you kept delaying an answer to them because you were mulling over another job vs. yours being offered . . . . they'd get tired of it and move on to another candidate. If he was the ONLY person out there to hire, then he'd have every right to take all the time he wants. But with numerous other employers looking for the same exact people as we are right now, the clock is ticking on decent people to choose from. This is getting rediculous. I think 305finforlife has a point. With Philbin's unfortunate circumstances, I'd be supprised if he made any move now (this year) and if we miss out on Fisher . . . . . . decent candidates are starting to get thin and teams are already starting to hire . . . we wait too much longer and we'll be in big trouble.
