You guys ready to wait til the weekend for Fisher news?

Trust me, if you interviewed for a job and they made you and offer and you kept delaying an answer to them because you were mulling over another job vs. yours being offered . . . . they'd get tired of it and move on to another candidate. If he was the ONLY person out there to hire, then he'd have every right to take all the time he wants. But with numerous other employers looking for the same exact people as we are right now, the clock is ticking on decent people to choose from. This is getting rediculous. I think 305finforlife has a point. With Philbin's unfortunate circumstances, I'd be supprised if he made any move now (this year) and if we miss out on Fisher . . . . . . decent candidates are starting to get thin and teams are already starting to hire . . . we wait too much longer and we'll be in big trouble.
I've never been in the position where I could do that. I've never had an employer that needed me to that level. I did delay a choice I made between my last job and my present job. It was only 24 hours, but I did delay, and I delayed my academy date for a month. Why? Because I could and after consideration of the info and circumstance that was what was best for me. So far who has been hired that you covet?

Fisher is in the position where he can delay, and we are in a position where we can wait a little while. Nobody really knows what sort of job
any given coach is going to do. Maybe our third choice turns out to be the best guy for the job? Who knows? The bottom line is; Everyone is using the leverage they have. When it because intolerable to one side of the other, something will give, and we'll move on to the next thing. It's negotiations. Just because you've lost your nerve doesn't mean the FO should lose theirs.

But the fact is I haven't lost my nerve. I never liked Fisher to begin with. I personally think he's a decent coach and probably good enough to get us a little better than .500. Maybe take us to the playoffs every few years. But I don't think he's good enough to be a serious SB contender. So while I do agree with you that he's only doing what he's being allowed to do by STL and us, the real fact is why is the FO letting an OK coach hold us randsom in all this? It's not panic talking, it's logical sense. Now we don't know for sure what's really going on, as all these "reporters" can't all have inside sources and be right, but it has gone on a lot longer than it probably should have already considering he was an unemployed coach who knew what teams were interested in him a long time ago. So in the end, it's really our own FO's fault for letting it get this way.
