It is the apathy. It is worse now even than when Wannstadt was here. I guess because it was so near the end of the Glory years. The FO and ownership seem to relish in their own ego and a PR mindset that they believe will bring the team back from the depths of ineptitude. I watch from afar as every move they make seals their fate as they sink further into the muck and mire. I will be a fan forever, but until things change with Ownership, FO and the coaching staff - the passion(life) has been sucked out of me.:(

The reality looks like its back to the drawing board with a clean sheet of paper and start again. I really hope if and when the time of change comes that Ross has done a careful research of hiring the most capable and skilled personnel to run, scout and coach this team.

If Ireland is not here next season, then you need to take a personnel guy from the elite well run and successful organisations - Packers, Ravens, Eagles, Pats, Saints.

CK in a recent post sang the praises of Russ Ball Green Bay's right hand man to their GM Ted Thompson. His experience and track record is excellent as well possessing a high character and understanding of players, coaches and senior management.

He is type of person we need as a GM or in some FO role.

As for the choice of head coach I'm not to sure who I would want. Can I live with Cowher or Gruden? Most probably.

Ross tried. He brought in a football guy with a track record and turned the entire operation over to him. The guy was old and cut a deal to get paid whether he worked or not and decided not to work. I feel sorry for Ross, because the Harbaugh fiasco showed how desperate he was after Parcells abandoned him. Not knowing much about football, he tried to do it himself. This whole fiasco, my brothers and sisters, can be traced to two individuals who quit on us in the middle of the project: Jimmy Johnson, who not only quit but saddled us with Wanny, and the damned Tuna, who saddled us with his apprentices who couldn't stand on their own two feet. They are the authors of the disgrace to our community that the Dolphins are today.

hopefully ross brings out the big bucks for cowher/gruden when he realizes sparano and ireland were a failed experiment.

Actually that was Huizenga....Ross inherited the situation. I do think he blundered not cleaning house after last season.

This team clearly quit on its coach late last season, and I see nothing to suggest that confidence has been restored.

that may be a blessing in disguise

well said...I agree 100%

I might add Huzenga who triggered the whole changing of fortune, who pushed a still effective Shula into retirement. Shoes could have coached another 10 years and left us with a better cast of characters.
HHH was suckered by Johnson. He was not very smart after all. That will be HHH's legacy to south Florida football.
