You Pennington Bashers Are Ridiculous

Most of you guys are ridiculous. You make it sound like Pennington can only throw the football 15-20 yards. I guarantee he can throw it 50+. That first touchdown that Favre threw, I guarantee Pennington could have made that throw. It was about 40 yards, and the WR was wide open. There are dozens of QB's with cannon arms that fail in the NFL. Throwing it 60 or 70 yards is rarely useful in a game.

Do you people have such short memories that you can't remember Pennington bombing it deep on us repeatedly to Laverneous Coles? If our receivers ever get open deep, Pennington will hit them.

Pennington should and will play the entire season. As they said on the radio today, Pennington is the perfect QB to mentor Henne. All Henne does is throw fastballs/lasers. That's all he has in his arsenal. Pennington succeeds with everything but a fastball. Henne will learn from Pennington all sorts of throws that he has never used before. If Henne came in right now he would look HORRIBLE and we'd be going through the whole Jon Beck thing again.

Pennington will win us some games. He is perfect for this team. You realize until he had to throw the heave at the end his numbers were 26-42, 251 yards, 2TD, 0 INT. When was the last time we had a performance like that? As another poster said: I'm used to cringing when our QB drops back to throw. Now not only do I not cringe, I expect the pass to be completed.

Nice post, but dont knock Henne. I wish that flee-flicker had worked out. Pennington was going to hit a WIDE OPEN Ted Ginn for a score on that one. Ricky took it a little too deep before he turned to pitch it, but most of the blame falls on the OL there because they just got pushed back WAY TOO FAR. The whole OL. Mostly Satele on that one but, the OL got manhandled on that one and it ruined the play. Ginn was all by himself for a score.

I agree

The Dolphins had several defensive breakdowns, wideouts that do not know how to get open, and constant pressure......... but all of a sudden it is Pennington lack of an arm. WE WERE STILL IN THE GAME!! I could understand all of this jibberish had the score been 65-0. The team need some veteran WR's that know how to run a route or teams will start puttin 8 or 9 in the box and dare the Fins to throw.

I'm not on the Pennington Blame wagon. The plays I saw he was very composed in the pocket with heat all around him.

i'm sorry, i just have to say this, it's spelled 'ridiculous' not 'rediculous'

Coudlnt agree more, I thought Pennington had a really good game. On that one flea flicker, man Ginn was wide open. And on another play Ginn was open downfield but pennington got sacked before he could make the throw.

Yeah Penny played well...Henne needs time to grow as a man and as a player....If Penne can complete 60% of his passes i think we easily win 6-7 games this year...Henne can learn so much and Penny will teach him well. I cant believe all these people saying we need a guy who can throw a laser for 50 yards how many 50 yard routes does our playbook have MAYBE 1 i will take 20 yards routes right down the field all day...but maybe thats just me

Pennington looked bad during his first few series in there. I think it was mainly the play calling. It looked like we were trying to throw some 5 yard slant patterns, and Chad was really off. As the game wore on I think Chad got on a roll, especially in the 4th quarter. If there were 5 quarters in football I think we would have put have put a lot of points as the Jet's defense was spent. Unfortunately we fell behind by 13 points, and we made a lot of mistakes, dumb penalties (a lot of them totally bogus penalties, or no calls (running into our kicker, the clock winding down to zero, etc.). But we are a young team, and it looked typical of a first game. Lets beat the Cardinals next week and the Pats the following week, and win the AFC East.

But the option is there, with pennington it is not. Hey I am not bashing him because he is the best qb we have had since marino. That been said I want to see Henne next year. I also want to see ginn paired with a Roy Williams.
