This completely dumb-ass mentality of playing conservative on offense and "hoping" our defense bails us out...

DOES... NOT... WORK!!!

I simply can't believe that coaches being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars STILL haven't figured this one out.

You play - AND win - as a TEAM. Bottom line.

:monkey: conservative coaching

Wanny/Norv... grow some cojones, dammit!

For what it's worth... I think (hope) we'll see better coaching this week. Or, at least, more "aggressive" coaching.

Hey 81 your 2 for 2 today I completely agree conservative will not win it this year. READ my POST titled NORV TURNER

If you are ready for lots of INTs lets air it out. The reason why we are coaching conservative is that Ray can not get a pass off and to the receivers properly and timely.

5 deep passes attempted against the Jets. Only two Lucas got off - almost an INT and an INT which was called back because of a penalty. On one he ran into the rush instead of away and on 2 more he did not go through his progressions and threw to a wide open MM and Ward on the short to medium routes - instead he got happy feet. This is according to Wannstedt and Norv. Not me.

you are exactly right FFIB

the game plans for GB and Jets were correct, we just had stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid fumbles. The game plan eliminated (some by luck) INTs at the expense of med-long passes, but still moved the chains. Remember our D has rarely looked great when asked to be on the field for large portions of a game. Whenever we keep our D on the sidelines, they look spectacular when they are in there.

The only way we win is we keep our offense on the field as little as possible...especially at home.

Under Lucas we have lost that long drive ability we had in the beginning fo the year. We can not sutsain drives. 60% of our drives against the jets were 3 and out and 4 and out. We scored on a 5 play drive because of good field position.

For the next two games we got our home D. You know what that means? They feed of the crowd and play superb. I expect a few turnovers deep in ravens teritorry which hopefully we can capitalize on.

Right now, the name of the game is: keep the D on the field and the O off the field.

I disagree that only way win win if we keep offense off the field. We need offense to actually get some first down and rest our defense. The fact is our Defense has been on the field too long due to Ray Lucas inability to keep drives alive. Our key to winning this next game is the Defense to force some turnover and for offense to get some first down.

I agree with that.......

Ray can't even hand a ball off without f*cking it up. We are doomed with him starting at QB.

OFFENSE ROLLS, DEFENSE HOLD, SPECIAL TEAMS PLAY SPECIAL. That is how you win football games in any level of football.

Rutgers is a genius school. He should be smart enough to know how to hand off a football.

Ever since you wouldn't wanna tell certain guys from Joisey that it isn't. Not a genius school? Fuhgeddaboudit!!!

I think it should be said, however, that one of the primary reasons Rutgers' football program struggles is because they actually apply an occasional academic standard to their athletes. Ironic then, isn't it, that Ray Lucas' problems seem to be based in poor mental-processing. Yeesh.

Just curious: If you were Wanny and Norv and you had Ray Lucas and Mike McMahon on your bench, who would you start?

McMahon, without hesitation. At least McMahon showed a few glimses of talent last year while starting in Detroit.
