I have seen a few names mentioned and mocked to us at 18.
Who is someone you haven't heard mocked to us that you have as a dark horse.

I'm holding out hope one of our top 5 picks falls, and we either move up to get them or they're there at #18.

(Whether it's Parsons, Smith, Waddle, etc.)

I would agree with Slater. He is probably the second best offensive lineman in the draft and him dropping to 18 would be very surprising. Hopefully the Dolphins would take him if he is still on the board at 18.

Barmore. Might seem strange, but the way he played down the stretch was dominant.

I would want certain players in front of him but definitely qualifies as a dark horse.
I’m with you here SF. Nobody is talking about Christian Barmore to us. He’s the best interior DL in the draft to me though Levi Onwuzurike is another underrated player who will outplay his draft position. I think it would make some sense but I wouldn’t absolutely love the pick but not bc of Barmore the player. It’s the fact we have more pressing needs like EDGE....

Which brings me to my guy Jaelan Phillips out of Miami (FL). I’ve brought him up quite a few times on the board but I just love his film. I would take him at #18 and wouldn’t think twice. I know some will think that’s to high but I don’t. I know there is medical concern but if my medical team checks him off then I’d have no hesitation whatsoever. If he reaches his potential he will be a multiple time all pro selection. I believe he’s the best EDGE guy in the draft.

In my draft sims I trade down every time from 18 for a late 1st and a 2nd (unless somehow Micah Parsons or Devanta Smith are available at 18 - not very often).

If those scenarios don't materialize I'd go with the best OL available or Keith Paye (not really a dark horse).

I guess I don't really have a dark horse at 18. I'm looking for value and I think the 2nd round has more value than the mid first. I'm looking to trade down and get more picks.

I agree with that last part 100%. The 2nd round does have more value than mid 1st. I absolutely 100% agree with you there. I would like to trade out of #18 too unless somebody falls like you mentioned. Their is some exceptional talent in the 2nd round of this draft.

Dark horse? If a CB slides because of people trading up, perhaps we snag one like Jaycee Horn.

Our CBs are great and very, very expensive. Igbo was a late 1st pick last year. Drafting capable CBs will help a couple years down the road when they need to free up a monster amount of cap to resign Tua & Jackson.
