Given the splurge the last few years under Ireland and recently what hickey has done, and based on how they do in this years draft. Do you think Miami is done splurging on big name free agents? Then continue the build through the draft. Do you think Miami has their cap issue completely figured out for long term? Or is this another regime due to fail?

Done splurging?? We just signed Suh to that fat deal lol

But I'd hope so

I think this team needed Suh to help the rushing defense and give Wake some much needed help. I believe the front office knows the draft is the way. Look at the good deal that they got with Jennings.

I really like the players, I like the OC, and I think Ross...means well.

I draw the line at faith in Joe Philbin. When the right coach comes along and moves these men, unlike Joe does, then we will be deep in the playoffs.

Faith starts in TanneHickey, through the o.c. to the newer standouts like Fede and Mccain. But it stops at Philbin.

I think Wallace was paid elite money and he was not an elite player and he did not fit what we could do here. I think Suh is an elite player and got elite money. I think he will be a difference maker, can't say that about Wallace.

I have a lot of faith in philbin ........ I might be the only one that sees something in him and maybe I'm blind as he'll cause I don't know what it is ..... But I like philbin and I think this year tannehill and suh will take this team to the next level .

Bro we agree to disagree. I hope I am wrong however I am not sold on Philbin either. Let's see how this season plays out as the back half of the schedule will be a challenge for this team. I will be watching to see if we have the leadership to push forward and win games at the end of the season.

1. Owner Grade A minus.Ross is willing to spend money so he is not a problem plus he appears to stay out of football operations which should be a plus. He is a little goofy too.
2. GM Grade B minus. Hickey was kicked out of Tampa Bay a doormat team which is not a endorcement but his first 2 picks last year played pretty well which IMO opens the door so the jury is still out IMO. I do like the Suh pickup but IMO we have a lot of holes to fill still.
3. Coach Grade D plus Philbin was out of touch with his team 2 years ago durning bullygate, and last year Wallace quit on him during the last game of the year. We have at best been a 8 -8 team during his tenure with probably the best QB since Dan Marinio enough said.
4. VP Grade Inc. Tannebaum comes over from the Jets from what I understand and they impress me less than the phins. Plus we have 2 less picks in this years drafts due to trades that may turn out great but thats not building through the draft. I am not excited about him but have to give him the benefit of the doubt.
5. Grade D minus , minus. Aponte IMO is poison to any franchice. Cleveland where she came from went down the tube as a franchise while she was ther and rumors has it she was a large reason for it. I have seen nothing to convice me otherwise while she has been here. Maybe she handles the cap well but I am not certain about that anymore as this year which is year 2 of her handling it and we had the least amount of money to spend in quite some time.

Look at the Pats as much as hate to say it to see how to win. Stability at the coaching and QB position and buidling through the drafts. Philbin has not brought any stability to this team, drafting has been OK but nothing spetacular since Jimmy Johnson left town. We have a long way to go to build a winner.

In totality, I am extremely pleased with this off season. Getting rid of Ellerbee, Wheeler, Wallace, and all the ineffective, old and crippled big men on this team.
Signing Suh was a coup. The only negative was getting out maneuvered on the Charles clay negotiations...but we also signed Cameron.
Trading down to acquire more picks to fill out the roster with good talent seems to be the best course of action.
I think we will be very active on day #1.

i like what we have done this off season... starting with what we needed to do internally, cleaning out the mess, the crazy contracts, etc... moves we needed to definitely make and help create cap space for future.

then ridding the issues, personality wise, was needed... though might not overall of been the bestest for our immediate success... still needed and shall benefit us no doubt.

SUH... what a big name... he definitely will help us in the middle of our defense, taking pressure off LBs, and allowing rush to come from other areass a little easier. great need especially from where our defense has been struggling half of the season and disappearing.

i like how we are also allowing our youth to develop and prove themselves. its basically this year i think, but they all have their shots. you gotta love reading and seeing them all together, working, etc... keep this going, form into a team and units, accomplish!!! great to see

and obviously some guys we brought in FA wise has been nice to see... possible contributors right away, some depth acquisitions, etc!!!

we still have work to do... draft coming up... lets keep piecing it all together!!!
