I was sitting in front of my television today watching an old beta tape of the 41-38 San Diego/Miami game in 1981(i think it was '81). It took me back to when I was 8 years old and watching the game live on my 13 inch black and white tv in my room in Sacramento,CA. My dad was taping it in the living room without me knowing it. I learned much later he had bet on Miami(Don't know what the spread was. I was 8 or so). Anyway, it took me back to when I remember watching the hook and ladder play that tied the ball game up. I still get chille watching it. That was my favorite Dolphins moment as a kid. I know everyone would ask: "Why not when Dan Marino went to the SB?" Well, that was in my top 5, but I remember betting ALL of my classmates that were 49er fans. I think I paid out about 50 bucks of my savings because of that. I remember having to go to my mom at 11 years old and saying: " Mom, I made some bets on my team and lost. Can we go to the bank?" Needless to say, I haven't bet on my beloved Fins since...Curious to see what childhood memories are out there, since we are a diverse group. Let the reminiscing begin.:dolphins:

I was never into football as a kid. My parents divorced when I was 4 and my dad never had the opportunity to really get me into sports. I have always really regretted not getting involved in football at a young age because not only have I always wanted to play on a team but now I am looking into making a career in Football in some way and dont have the life long experience that others have! Anyways, to my memory:

I know that when I am an older man I will really look back on these days and cherish the memories I have (19 now). My dads friend always had huge dolphin parties every year for every playoff game the Phins played in. It became a tradition...like some people ALWAYS do the same christmas party every year...well our phins made the playoffs nearly every year in the 90's so we went alot of times. I was was never really interested in the game back then, just Marino. I was a kid so naturally all of the men went upstairs to the big sports room an watched the game and us kids played games or played outside. I dont have many memories watching the ACTUAL games that young but I will always remember the tradition of going over to the Gordons every year for the Dolphins parties and seeing all of the same faces and eating great food. Now that I think about it, I'm glad I didnt care about the outcome back then because that would have made for alot of bad memories, haha.

I was also 8 for the SD playoff game, and it's probably my favorite memory too. I was visiting my dad in Miami and had to fly back to West Virginia, where I lived at the time, on the day of the game. My dad took me to a tailgate party at the game, and unfortunately I had to catch my plane before the game started, so he took me from there to the airport.

The thing I remember most was sitting at the gate in the airport listening to the 1st quarter of the game, and SD went up 24-0. Some guy who was sitting at the same gate said, "forget it kid -- that game's over."

We got on the plane, and I had put tin foil on the antenna of my little radio, thinking I could listen to the whole game from the plane. I was able to hear the game while we were still parked at the gate, and when we got a FG and made the game 24-3, my little 8-year-old self searched the plane and found that guy just to tell him that my Dolphins had scored and that it wasn't over.

Little did he or I know it'd be one of the best games in history.

That's my favorite childhood memory, but I also remember crying my eyes out during the second half of the SB against the Redskins, pleading with Don Strock to bring us back after David Woodley had been benched. That's the memory that always tells me how much I love this team.

I'm going to get a lot of "you're really young" responses, but the truth is that I'm 8 and have only been an avid Dolphins fan for three seasons. That being said, how about Chambers lighting up the #1 defense on thanksgiving?

as a young football player at Westwood Park (I'm a Panther ! woot!) we went to Miami Dolphins football practices. We were allowed on the practice field and the players stayed after to work with us. I have caught a football from George Wilson Jr., John Stofa, and Bob Griese. The highlight for me was being given one on one linebacker lessons by John "Bull" Bramlett. Very heady stuff for a kid twelve years old. I was PISSED when we traded Bull for some chump named Buoniconti.

When I was 12 in 1977 and on Thanksgiving against St. Louis Griese threw for six touchdowns to crush the Cards 55-14.

That was when he also took to wearing eyeglasses too.

THAT was a GREAT game. Larry Little knocked Conrad Dobler OUT with a facemask punch on the sideline.

Mine was in 1995 when I got to see(or at least see highlights) of Dan breaking all of Tarkenton's records. I was like 10. I remember him hugging Keith Byars in the end zone, and they always stopped the games and gave him a standing ovation. It was amazing.

Marino vs. Manning

Under 2:00 left in the game. Marino hadn't had a great season and was starting to deteriorate. He lead us right down the field in the RCA dome to beat the Colts by throwing a TD pass to......can anyone name who it was!!

Dude......I am not worthy.....:hail: LOL

Wish I had even HALF the memories.....WOW!

Watching the phins at Shea Stadium once a year. Although I ran out of uncles to take me because they feared for their lives. The JETS fans would kill each other, so imaging what my poor guys had to put up with when little me was jumping up and down in my Dolphins colors.
