I wasn't around for the Shula era. Let me give a young fan's perspective, from what I've seen since I started watching the Dolphins in 2004:
Mike McDaniel
Tony Sparano
Dan Campbell
Mike McDaniel is a revolutionary coach. I feel like we have yet to see his greatness. His entire scheme, the way he communicates with people, the way he relates with players - he is special. I hope he is here for a long, long time with great success.
Tony Sparano I respect the hell out of. He was definitely old school, with the game clearly passing him by in his tenure, but he was a true player's coach, and the guys loved him all the way to the end. It's unfortunate things turned out the way they did. Rest in peace, Coach.
And what isn't there to say about Dan Campbell. After 3 years of anemic Joe Philbin he was a breath of fresh air. Clearly not ready to do the job when he was here, but his attitude is infectious. I love seeing his success in Detroit; it's been a long time coming for him, and especially those fans in Detroit who have had it a heck of a lot worse than us.
