Hey us Texas State Bobcat Fans are dying for news on Big Fred Evans. Anyone know any links where we can get Dolphins hilites, more news, video, etc?

We are real proud of him here at Texas State...We hope you guys start calling him "Big Fred" like we do. You could have Big Daddy and Big Fred. It would be awesome.

im sure someone can give you more insight than i can, but in the meantime..

he's been playing pretty good in the preseason games, getting his name called a few times on some nice defensive plays (has a sack too). we are pretty deep at DL but he might just make the cut, he has a lot of potential and looking good for us already.

Just might make the cut? The guy is a stud and will get serious playing time this year. He caused like 2 fumbles last game and is very distruptive.

The guy is Awesome everytime he's in there something positive happens . Gets good penetration always seems to be in the backfield. Our best D-Lineman prospect . Cause of Evans we may be able trade one of our other linemen to get a late draft pick .

He's one of the few rookies on this team that's a lock to make the roster. He has sacks, has blown up running plays in the backfield and caused two fumbles in last week's game alone. I'm thrilled about him, especially with how old our defensive line is.

fred evans has been suprising me he has been a total monster

Fred Evans will definitely make our roster and probably crack our defensive tackle rotation. I don't know how much he'll play this season, but with neither of our Wrights playing this season, Fred is now the one being groomed to start at nose tackle in 2007. He's been as good as any of us could have hoped.

I dont know that he's going to get alot of playing time this season considering we've got looks like two quality Nose Tackles in rotation ahead of him, but he appears a lock to make the roster and looks like a very nice prospect for the Nose Tackle of the future.

Looks like he'll make the team, per the article on the front page today. While he may not be any "better" than Zgonina, he's as good. Given Big Fred's youth, it affords us to maybe trade Zgonina for a pick next year. Zgonina is still a good player and will find some playing time somewhere this year, but it looks like the dolphins have an embarrassment of riches along the DL this year:wink: . This is especially surprising since neither of the Wrights will probably be playing this year. I have zero inside info, but it seems to me that he will be part of a nucleus of DL for the long term, along with Roth, Vickerson and whichever Wright can get their act together. The others on the DL have some good years ahead of them, still, but the 'fins look pretty good with their young depth!!!

OLine is a different story: Any OLinemen there at TX State we can look at for next year???!!! Particularly, 7th rounders that are good enough to make the team? What a find! Go Big Fred.

So far... he looks like an absolute S-T-E-A-L...

Quick off the ball, but big and powerful too?? Where he hell did this guy come from??

wow... former bobcat here myself.. welcome to the boards... i first saw evens in last years playoff game.... and what an awesome game that was..too bad the bobcats lost.. and i remember saying... hey SWT.. or is it UT at SW now? has a great D line...

well he has realy surprised me... i would say he was going to be the primary backup at NT untill we got wilkinson...
he is very much going to make this team no way he gets let go

I am still wondering how in the hell this guy ended up at starring at texas st. and not Texas.

If you're not a high school All-American, Mack Brown isn't interested any more.
