Hey guys, normally I don't post here but Im going to start to because I have been reading for a long time and feel I should start posting.

The first question I ask is what are your thoughts on Chad Henne. IMO I want him to beat out Pennington in TC this year, If he does, then it will show that hes even better then what we expected..but its great to have Chad Pennington teaching Henne.

I was also very impressed on his drive against Arizona, he showed great poise in the pocket and threw that great pass with some zip to Hagan and threaded the needle perfectly.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on him.

Welcome to the Circus my friend!...

Be yourself and stand your ground, in the end you can't be wrong because it's "your" opinion!...

As to Mr. Henne, I think that it's a situation where he is going ot have to force his way onto the field...Pennington is a more than capable veteran signal caller that feels that he has at least another 2-3 good years left to play...

I personally think that we will see CP start again next year, with some packages put in for Henne at certain times in the game to change up the pace a little...Maybe we could call it the "Longbow Package"...lol

The kid is the real deal IMO, and I originally was not a fan of the pick, but after watching his on-field savvy and rocket arm translate to "special" pass completions, I am a believer!

Mark my words, when Henne gets underneath Center, Ted Ginn, Jr. will become the talk of the NFL. There isn't a CB in the league that can run with him when he hits that extra gear...

Go Phins!

High potential, very mature QB. A lot of experience being a 4 year starter at Michigan, great arm, very good accuracy, mature and smart...

I think he can really learn a lot from Pennington, and I think he will be a very good QB for us, for a long long time. I like him.

As for him beating out Penny...you do realize he had a QB rating of 97, the second highest in the league, and that with below average protection, and with OK'ish receivers, at best...Pennington got named the starter for 09, and unless he gets hurt, he is the starter.

IMO Switching QB's during a game has never seemed to work. The back and forth throws off the tempo. I would love for Chad H. to beat out CP and just Start the season. As for CP ratings My mom can Throw 5 and 10 yard passes all day also. we need a constent deep threat so when they do go for the 5 and 10's we can get some yac's!!

Going into the 2008 draft I had Henne as my #2 quarterback behind Matt Ryan, but I did not think he was far behind Ryan as a prospect.
Henne is a big kid with a live arm and plenty of leadership quality. I have a lot of faith in Henne to develop into a very good NFL quarterback. The sky is the limit for him IMO.

I think he's going to have a great future with the team.

He's got poise in the pocket, a big arm, and the swagger that comes with a winning QB.

The QB competition between he and Pennington this Summer ought to be a good one.

He reminds you a lot of Marino actually, come to think of it...

I know.... Blasphemy!!!!

lol.

I like him, have high hopes for him and believe he is the long term answer at QB for us. We are very blessed to have Pennington right now leading this team and being a mentor for Henne. Henne may not see the field much in 2009, but I do think he will become the full time starter by the 2010 season.

Why do you and so many other people say that Chad Pennington threw only 5 and 10 yard passes? Because he has a weaker arm than most QBs in the league? I remember Chad having quite a few 20+ yard passes a game. You don't get 3,500+ yards in a season throwing just 5 and 10 yard passes.

Pennington was 6th in the NFL in yards per attempt, ahead of Warner, Romo, Cutler, AaRon Rodgers, Peyton Manning, McNabb, Favre...etc. etc.

The noodle arm is exaggerated. Although I will admit that when that ball goes over the 20 yard mark, it floats like a duck.

How many of you on here will be at Nova in July to watch the battle between Pennignton and Henne?

Welcome,

I think Pennington has the job locked up unless he's injured. I think the best case for the Dolphins is to let Henne sit one more season and maybe even get a little playing time in 09. But I think Pennington is our starter for the near future. As for Henne, whats not to like? The kid has the intangables, arm strength and pocket presense to be a good QB, of course we won't know what he's gonna be till he's thrown in full time, but if BP and company like the kid that's good enough for me.

YPA can be higher for Qb's who complete a higher percentage of their passes.

Ex: Going 2-2 for 10 yards is the same YPA as someone who goes 1-2 for 10 yards.

Let's wait and see. No need to put unneeded pressure on a young QB. We still have two options for our next QB. Neither one has proven anything yet.

I'm a Michigan fan and was never really excited about Henne. It seemed in most games when HE needed to lead the offense to a win he didn't.

I know I'm going to take a lot of heat for these comments, but we need to let FUTURE play on the field determine our next QB.

As for Pennington, Sparano would be a fool to start anyone else at this point. He's the offensive players choice for QB and will fight for him. Who follows Pennington will have to earn it, not given it.
