People on this board who are picking apart Culpepper are simply in denial. Anyone who doesn't see the truth and accept it needs to right now: We are not a great football team. We aren't even a good football team. Last year it was generally agreed it would take 3 years to fix Wannstedt's mess, we are barely into Year 2 and people are angry cause their Super Bowl at home pipe dreams are falling apart.

Culpepper hasn't made a turnover in two games, just threw for 250 yards and a TD on a decent completion % considering he had to throw the entire 4th quarter from behind on the scoreboard, and people here are absolutely ripping him for standing in the pocket too long and making horrendous decisions. I saw the guy on several occasions break a tackle or a sack and slide out of the pocket and complete a pass, maybe you guys were watching a different game. If the guy completes 60% of his passes and is making all those mistakes, then I guess you will only be happy with 85% completions and 5TDs. He is improving and not yet up to form. Joey is a joke of a QB with a weak mind and putting him in would be disastrous.

The problem is that everyone here who hates Pep is basically looking for someone to blame. You don't want to accept its not all his fault, its the fact the team sucks, period. He has played 4 games for the franchise and you already threw him under the bus. Just accept the fact he is hurt, Ronnie has no holes, Chambers is MIA, the OL is bottom 5 worst, the DL is aging and overrated, the LBs from left to right are overrated, aging, and a nobody. The DBs are pathetic. The special teams are average at best. The playcalling is not timely and our redzone conversion is a joke. Every facet of the franchise is in bad shape. STOP blaming Culpepper, take off the homer glasses, and take a look at your Miami Dolphins, a bad football team.

Armchair QBs need to chill out and just support the team. They might improve and win 9-10 games still, maybe not, but stop being unrealistic with your expectations, this board looks like a daycare with everyone crying about the QB play. Hope for the best, but stop pretending you know squat about football in comparison to those in the organization.

Good thread!

One more thing: what exactly do people want him to do with the ball? "THROW IT!" you say. Where? If everyone is covered, should he force it in for a pick six? Scramble and try to make a play that isnt there? Where is he supposed to go? In my life I have never seen a QB throw a ball out of bounds more than two or three times a game to let go of a busted play, but you expect it every time nothing is there. Maybe the WRs simply aren't getting open on those plays (you can't see that because the camera is focused on the QB), take that into consideration.

Oh wait a minute...I was having flashbacks to 2004. Dang this thread is right I am in denial. It is 2006 and Daunte is now a Dolphin...Daunte SUCKS at QB!!! There now I am out of denial and back in reality.

yea im in denial...i imagine him holding the ball too long, not looking off recievers, under/overthrowing recievers and making poor decisions...thank you for showing me the light

Wannstedts Mess? We had that really bad 4-12 year where Ricky quit before the season and everything just went bad. You guys act as if we were awful under wanny. When wanny was the coach you could at least always count on us beating the bad teams, you cant even do that now. Saban is overatted, simple fact.

throw the damn football! this phrase is repeated at least 15 times during every game in my house by 5 finfans watching. its getting rediculous with all these cpep luvers who just cant realize he isnt playing good.

true dat

Half of Culpeppers yards and his only TD came after we were down 17-6 in the 4th quarter. Now, maybe the lightbulb finally went off, and he will play the rest of the season like the last 2 drives. However, he did nothing the first 3+ quarters.

You are right - he is not all to blame. There is plenty of it to go around on offense. I do think Culpepper deserves some of the blame, though.

Here's denial and it aint a river in Egypt. When most teams scored and average of 32 points against the Texans, our high dollar broke leg QB couldn't only muster one TD throwing the ball. Culpepper sux and needs to ride the pine now.

man does anybody realize dave wannestedt went 11-5 each of his first 2 years with jay fiedler at qb??? i'm no dave fan but this is now sabans team and what do we have to show for it?? a 1-3 start when we should be 0-4. he has done nothing for the o-line and the defense has just gotten older in the past 2 years. i'm sick of this saban is god garbage. this team used to be fun to watch. this year has been an absolute disaster.
