Given the information we know at this point in time ( salary, years left, JT's level of play, etc ), would you have pulled the trigger on this deal with the Redskins (for a 2nd and future 6th )? Keep in mind, judging this decision shouldn't be affected by how JT's future play turns out, because that's not reality: a GM must make a decision here and now, and let the chips fall where they may. We can, of course, make an educated guess as to how we believe he will perform, and weight our decision accordingly ( subtle but big difference ).
 
I would say a resounding YES. He has been a great player for our franchise, but at his age he won't have much left and since we're in a rebuilding phase he probably wouldn't be around by the time we rose to contenders again....so again, YES
 
No doubt in my mind we make the trade. Just in April we could only get a 4th. The Redskins were in panic mode losing two de's in one day. What if he were injured with us? We would have lost everything.
 
Who are the 2 people who said no? Skins fans? Bills fans? This was an excellent trade for us.

A disgruntled player who doesn't want to be here, who's said he'll only play a year anyway for a potential 1st day stud that could play 10+ years.

I hope the Skins can milk Jason Taylor of what he has left and get more out of him than we probably would have if he stayed, but we won this trade hands down and both sides know it.

No I am liking the trade.

Gets Taylor out of the Division that I do not need to worry about anymore, and actually it is a good trade for you.

Granted he may play more than 1 year with the Skins, but the bottomline is he would not have played again next year for the Fins.
 
I would make this trade all day, every day. I really appreciate all that JT has done and wish him well. However, we need new leaders and a new look. We are building from scratch with alot of younger players. Great move!
 
I was so happy when I heard we had made this trade... 100% great trade for the future of this franchise
