"Matos joined the South Florida Bulls football team as a walk-on in 2022. Initially a defensive lineman and special teams player, he was later moved to offensive tackle. He did not play during the 2022 regular season.
In January 2024, Matos was announced as one of 16 players selected for the National Football League's International Player Pathway Program (IPPP), designed to give opportunities in the league to foreign players. He trained at IMG Academy and has been praised by NFL analyst Scott Pioli for his skills and size. Despite being 6 feet 9 inches (2.06 m) and 290 pounds (130 kg), he ran a 4.88 40-yard dash at his pro day, which would have been the best among all linemen at the NFL Scouting Combine. He is eligible to be selected at the 2024 NFL draft and has been considered a potential late-round pick."

handle tight quarters … recovers well vertically to regain phase and turn to locate the football … balances his vision to feel his surroundings and match receivers

SUMMARY: A two-year starter at TCU, Perry was the strong safety in defensive coordinator Joe Gillespie’s 3-3-5 base scheme, playing primarily in off coverage. After three seasons at Colorado (football and track), he transferred to the Horned Frogs for his final two seasons and combined for 142 tackles — although his ball production wasn’t nearly as impressive (six passes defended and zero interceptions in 27 games). In coverage, Perry reacts with natural twitch and field range to cover a lot of ground, but he needs improved route recognition to better put himself in position to make plays on the ball. He plays gap sound in the alley and can finish one-on-one when he uses proper technique and timing. Overall, Perry will occasionally lose his man when left on an island, but his explosive athleticism allows for quick recoveries and shows in the run game, as well. He projects as an NFL reserve with upside to see the field in sub packages and on special teams. GRADE: 6th-7th Round

This draft was all about getting athletes, even if we didn't seem to have need at that position.
UDFA looks like the same thing. We're prioritizing speed and sacrificing sometimes in other areas and putting it on our staff to coach them up.

This has been a constant with this staff. They are less concerned with 'floor' than most teams.
I love the fact that they outwork and outbid other teams during the post draft period. All of these bonuses combined won't be a million dollars, but we keep scoring useful players like Nnedham, Kohou, and Bonner.
