Tua Contract Negotiations Start

You're asking a stupid question. How do you expect people to respond?

No one wants to pay Tua extra money. If you want to keep him, it will come at market value which will be negotiated.
-you cannot answer a simple question
-you seem to believe every negotiation ends at a "fair" price and there is never a winner and a loser in a negotiation?

Because you are looking for a black or white answer to a question that is not black and white.

In addition to that, you have zero knowledge from either the Tua camp, nor the organization about the actual numbers being discussed. That makes it a purely hypothetical or philosophical exercise.

Why don't you just wait until the contract details come out, then see what ppl think?
i asked a very simple question, which is independent of the result, and frankly even the player. i would say the same thing about any player - the goal is to retain them for the least amount of money to keep them.

when the number actually gets announced, people can have a view on the number, but there is almost no way of knowing if the dolphins could have paid less and retained him.

side note - it is interesting fans of the OBJ signing loved to cite the $3mm number and say look how cheap we got him for. seems to me people should be consistent with their constructs.

I don't have a dog in this fight but you need to give it up already. You aren't changing any opinions for many of the move vocal "contributors" on this board. Instead, you are just turning everyone against you and being put on a lot of ignore lists.

I can only imagine whom it is everyone is arguing with....

Exactly. There is no way of knowing. Glad you realize you are arguing something meaningless.

So "you like to argue" it is......

It is a negotiation. You are oversimplifying the process, and also ignoring the realities of contract structure and guarantees being more important that the raw per year number.

Would you want Tua @ 1m per? Obviously, yes.
Would you want him @ 75m per? Obviously, no

Somewhere in between is a number "fair" to both parties. Different ppl have different views on what that number is.

Why is that so hard for you to accept as the reality?

Try dressing up as this first. He may accept it then.

Please ignore me. My God it was a simple question. I do not need to get alerts and comments from little babies that have nutties over dispassionate and simple questions. So yes I accept your offer please put me in your ignore list !

Like Mach 2 said “Why do you post numerous times and don’t listen or think about a thing most believe when they reply?” I am fine with other opinions, but when they keep arguing and make ridiculous comments repeatedly… then it’s IGNORE for you. And I feel better. My Dad used to say there’s no sense in arguing with a fool. He also said there’s no sense in looking up a dead horse’s ass.

yes. but market value is in the eye of the beholder. it is a negotiation. there is no magic number out there. for example, they could have paid OBJ $10mm, but held firm and got him for what they did. but they could have caved early in the negotiation, and given OBJ his number. you never really know, it is all a big poker game.
Market price is not subjective, you may disagree with it and not want to pay it. Tua may disagree and want more but it isn't up to any individual, the market is the market, accept it or not.

WTF is a pervovor???? A dinosaur that only eats priests, Kevin Spaceys, and Harvey Weinsteins?????? WTF BNF?????? :chuckle:
Exactly! Since I'm operating at the Zen level #9 l am qualified to spontaneously create new words underscoring the meaningless of it all! Subsequently edited for the great mundanes among us...

Prices are subjective, in the sense they're not strictly determined by the amount of resources and hours of labour that went into creating a given commodity, but instead determined by whatever someone is willing to pay for that commodity.

Nevertheless, I get your point, and I agree. The market is the market, and Tua will be paid according to the market.

We spent 20 years in the wilderness with Jay Fiedler and Chad Henne and Ryan Tannehill. Everyone complained that we don’t have a quarterback.

We now have a 26-year old quarterback with a career record of 32-19 who has finished Top 5 in the NFL in passer rating in back-to-back seasons (at 24 and 25), who has finished #1 and #2 in the NFL in yards/pass attempt over the past two seasons (at 24 and 25), and who led the NFL in passing yards last year (at 25).

Now half of Dolphins fans complain that we shouldn’t re-sign him.

We truly don’t deserve nice things.
Take all of those so-called fans to the fccken train station. They are all ignorant fools, brainless nitwits, or trolls. I have absolutely no use or tolerance for any of them.
lol.

Deshawn Watson is the posterchild for that.

see my original point. was quite straightforward and dispassionate. if you cannot answer a simple "yes" to the question of whether or not you want tua here for the least money possible, by definition you want to pay him more than the least money possible. simple question for you - do you want tua here for the least money possible, yes or no?
Yes, but what I want doesn't mean I think it's a viable option.
