That clip disappointed me. I expected CK was going to give us a video of all his center snaps in that game.
The top 4 Edges are locks. To carry a 5th means one less DB or off-ball LB, I'd guess. How would we work that out?I could see him making the roster with the new KO rules that seem to favor having more LB, RB sized players. He's intriguing as a pass rusher. I think all of those UCLA pass rushers seemed well coached. But I see him as a liability against the run at this point. I think his path to the 53 would be on STs and getting some reps as part of one our Nascar packages.

So, if Murphy is a lock to make the 53, who is going on IR and PUP?IR and PUP.
Idk about Murphy but Goode, Chubb and Phillips may not be ready for TC/Pre-season/ Season opener on a new scheme with a new DC who specializes on DL.So, if Murphy is a lock to make the 53, who is going on IR and PUP?
I took Reason's declaration as Murphy being kept along with the 4 locks. I have no idea if he was implying JP or Chubb would be on PUP for the first few weeks of the season.Idk about Murphy but Goode, Chubb and Phillips may not be ready for TC/Pre-season/ Season opener on a new scheme with a new DC who specializes on DL.
Plus Barrett is old and also has an injury history.
I'm not addresing or agreeing with Reasons, I'm answering your question about availability of roster spots.I took Reason's declaration as Murphy being kept along with the 4 locks. I have no idea if he was implying JP or Chubb would be on PUP for the first few weeks of the season.

I was counting wrong anyway. 5 edges look like locks. Kamara is the 5th. Murphy would be the 6th. With 10 DBs, 5 IDLs, 4 ILBs. That would make 25 on defense. 6 WRs, 2 QBs, 4 RBs, 1 FB, 3 TEs, 9 OLs, equals 25 offensive players. Not needing to use a roster spot on 3rd QB helps a little. This is assuming, of course, that JP and Chubb can begin the season on the active roster. Murphy would most likely be competing with a 5th ILB, whether Tindall or Brown.I'm not addresing or agreeing with Reasons, I'm answering your question about availability of roster spots.
I'm sure atleast 2, maybe 3 or even all of those will miss some time early on.
I'm not tabbing anyone to overtake them just yet, though.
Even at UCLA Murphy was mainly a 3rd down pass rushing specialist. That said, at 6'3" 250, 4.6 40, and extremely productive in college, it's one heck of a UDFA.I could see him making the roster with the new KO rules that seem to favor having more LB, RB sized players. To go even further, what if they both develop? Could we see another Tunsil like trade?Wouldn't it be crazy if he developed into the future franchise LT rather than Paul?
As much as I've been effusive and going on about Grayson, he's not a lock and like most UDFA's is less than 50-50 to make the team. Hope he gets a PS spot, at least. I really was shocked neither Murphy got drafted.I'm not addresing or agreeing with Reasons, I'm answering your question about availability of roster spots.

I never understood how Gabriel was rated so much higher than Grayson. Gabriel was rated about where I'd have expected them both to be ranked. There isn't a nickel's worth of difference between them.As much as I've been effusive and going on about Grayson, he's not a lock and like most UDFA's is less than 50-50 to make the team.
