1 for 20 on 3rd and long

During the game, they showed a stat...
On 3rd Down and 7+ yards, we were 0 for 19.

Then Davone Bess completed an yard pass on a 3rd and 8. So I guess we're 1 for 20. Seems like we could do a better job completing a 10-yard pass on 3rd down than that.

maybe acceptable for 3 and 15.....but 5% on 3rd and 7+.....unacceptable.

amazing thing is, that despite this stat, which seems worthy of the 2007 Dolphins, we are still a lot better offense than I thought we'd be.

We were actually pretty luckythe game was as competetive as it was. Our D could not get them off the field in the first half, and our offense could not get a first down.

Personally I thought that one big stat from the Houston game was that we were 2 for 10 on third down. That killed us! Now I know the defense didn't do a lot to help get themselves off the field but we kept putting them back out there because we just could not sustain our drives. You have to convert on third down folks. Hopefully this improves or we will see a lot of points scored on us all year.

Thank god we have a good running game because if not we would have an awful offense.
