Matt Maiocco, of The Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports the San Francisco 49ers have signed undrafted free-agent LB Diyral Briggs (Bowling Green), according to a report. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Damn. Briggs was really my best hope. I haven't heard anything about Darius Dale or Josh Vaughan but they do not appear to be in the mix for Miami.

I was real close to putting Hartline in there, too.
