2015 NFL Draft Prospects

OG Ben Beckwith, Mississippi St. 6-4 317lbs.

STRENGTHS: Has the frame only an offensive line coach would love - broad shoulders and a thick lower half that makes him well-suited to winning the battle of leverage in the pit. Plays with excellent knee bend and good core flexibility to anchor against bull rushers and has impressive upper body strength and hand placement to latch and control. Athletic enough to slide laterally to mirror in pass protection, though he could improve in this area with better spatial awareness. Showed his versatility by sliding over to center in 2014 and has the bulk, determination and intelligence to handle this role in the NFL. Blue collar work ethic that rubbed off on teammates. Earned his way onto the roster with his toughness and work ethic after earning "zero stars" by recruiting experts despite playing lettering in football and basketball in high school.
WEAKNESSES: Is a good athlete for his build but only average in this regard in comparison to other offensive linemen in the 2015 draft class. A half-step slow off the ball and frequently is left to "catch" defensive linemen and ride their momentum out of the play. Gets a bit lazy at times, leaning into opponents and relying on his upper body strength to control them, leaving himself off-balance. Spends too much time on the ground, showing only average balance. Does not possess ideal foot speed or body control to adjust to moving targets at the second level.

OT Jake Fisher, Oregon 6-6 306lbs.

STRENGTHS: Has broad shoulders, long arms and quick, strong hands to latch onto opponents. He's strong enough to catch and control defenders and does a nice job of turning them away from the action. He plays with good knee bend and on the balls of his feet, helping him to anchor and mirror effectively. Fisher is a very effective double-team blocker, releasing from one target to hit another. He is a selfless, passionate and versatile player whose blue-collar style was appreciated by the coaching staff.
WEAKNESSES: More of a technician than an elite athlete and will struggle to handle the speed rushers of the NFL. He does not possess top-notch initial quickness and fluidity in his kick-slide. Struggles to balance and recover if beaten off the ball. Shows the knee-bend to anchor, but can get himself in trouble when his feet stop moving and as he tires and loses the leverage battle.

He played DE in college, but at 293lbs., I think he will be a move DT in the Pros.

DT Xavier Cooper, Washington St. 6-3 293lbs.

STRENGTHS: Naturally large man with broad shoulders and thick limbs. He shows good initial quickness off the snap to penetrate. Surprising acceleration and balance for a man of his size. Passionate player who frequently pursues laterally and downfield - attributes which will intrigue teams looking for a five-tech defensive end or as a penetrating defensive tackle. He showed improved strength in 2014, including good initial pop to stun and shed would-be blockers and make plays at the line of scrimmage.
After initially struggling with academics, Cooper left Washington State early with his degree in Criminal Justice, speaking to his maturity and work ethic. Appears to be an ascending player who best football may still be ahead of him.
WEAKNESSES: Strong enough to hold up at the point of attack but could improve his play by gaining more explosiveness, which will help him discard blockers more efficiently. Too often is in position to make the play but failed to bring down ballcarriers, needing to show greater strength to latch on and drag ballcarriers to the ground.
Good effort but lacks timing as a pass defender, getting his hands up in passing lanes but failing to knock down a single pass in three seasons on the field at WSU.

DE Za'Darius Smith, Kentucky 6-4 274lbs.

STRENGTHS: Tall, long and broad-shouldered with solid build on his frame, looking the part of a NFL defensive end. Initial burst out of his stance to win the edge and surprise blockers with quickness. Core power and length to set the edge with heavy hands and upper body strength to shock blockers at the point of attack. Aggressive swat/swim moves with active hands to work off blockers and keep himself free. Improved eye use to locate and track quickly, rarely losing sight of the ball. Stays assignment sound and rarely take himself out of plays. Physical striker and reliable tackler, using his length to wrap and finish. Only average speed, but terrific effort each snap and fights through the whistle. Fiery competitor and plays with a passionate demeanor, always fired up. Versatile experience as an edge rusher at both left and right end, also lining up inside as a 3-tech tackle. Football bloodlines with an older brother (OL Bob Meeks) and cousin (DT Davern Williams) who played in the NFL. Toughed out an ankle injury late in the 2014 season, missing three quarters against Georgia, but returned following week. Always smiling and carry himself with a positive attitude and the coaches talk highly about his growth, both physically and mentally.
WEAKNESSES: Adequate initial quickness to run the arc, but needs to better control his momentum. Wild pursuit angles, struggling to stop his momentum on a dime and redirect at full speed. Has some stiff, rigid movements in space. Can be driven backwards and needs to improve his high pad level to play with better leverage and anchor. Routinely pops upright and needs to better protect himself vs. cut blocks. Needs to show more creativity and better shoulder dip as an edge rusher, not fooling blockers with his current bag of tricks. Plays high so he tends to hit high, which leads to helmet hits and smaller ballcarriers breaking free. Still relatively new to the game and learning the details of the position.

OLB Jordan Hicks, Texas 6-1 236lbs.

STRENGTHS: Compact frame, which he uses to slip past would-be blockers. Good core flexibility and balance as a pass-rusher to dip under the reach of pass-blockers or when scraping off the edge. Closes quickly on the ball once he locates it, showing some pop on contact.
Generally a reliable open-field tackler who lowers his shoulder into the ballcarrier and wraps his arms.
WEAKNESSES: Short and loses sight of the ball on occasion. See-it-and-go defender who lacks ideal instincts, too often taking false steps on his way to the ball. Flat-footed in coverage, leaving him trailing the action. Relies on his athleticism to avoid blockers and struggles to disengage when they're able to latch on.
Durability concerns. Missed a combined 19 games in 2012-13 due to a hip injury (2012) and Achilles tear (2013), each of which will require examination at the Combine. Hicks was one of two Texas players suspended and sent home from the Dec. 31 Alamo Bowl after violating team rules.

ILB Hayes Pullard, Southern California 6-0 240lbs.

STRENGTHS: Active athlete with rangy chase skills. Strong take-on skills with good bulk on his frame. Smooth transitional player with fluid movements to break down and rally to the ball. Natural instincts with good timing and anticipation in the run game to sniff out the play. Dissects and tracks the ball well, not getting fooled by eye candy. Physical striker with closing skills downhill, tackling low and wrapping through his target. Aggressive angles with the anger to finish. Highly active eyes and legs. Mature personality with attractive leadership traits. Durable four-year starter and two-year team captain, seeing time at both inside and weakside linebacker, also playing on special teams coverages. Highly productive with 377 total tackles and 20 passes defended, earning All-Conference honors each of the last four seasons.
WEAKNESSES: Lean-muscled with a thin torso and maxed out build. Not a power player and can get eaten up by blocks and lost in a crowd. Needs to finish once he makes contact, throwing his body around but not consistently breaking down properly. Will whiff in the open field at times. Average hand strength, hugging and wrestling to the ground. Questionable cover instincts and often a step late, lacking make-up speed on vertical routes. Too reactionary and not an instigator. Too many undisciplined penalties on his resume, including several facemask and holding calls. Kicked out of 2014 Stanford game for targeting, launching himself upward with his helmet. Has avoided the injury bug, but redshirted in 2011 after a knee injury.

CB Quinten Rollins, Miami(Ohio) 5-11 195lbs.

STRENGTHS: Constructed well for the position with good length and solid build for his height. Fluid athlete with coordinated footwork and smooth belt action to easily flip his hips.
Good flexibility out of his stance, keeping his nose over his toes and staying low to spring in any direction. Above average ballskills, reflexes and hand-eye coordination (16 passes defended in 12 starts).
Impressive tackling technique for a player with his inexperience, sinking, striking and wrapping with timing and pop. Throws his body around with emphasis and embraces the physical side of the game. Good eye use to read and anticipate the play before it happens, staying dialed in with natural instincts to put himself in position to make plays on the ball.
Ideal toughness for the position, both physically and mentally. Highly confident with a short-term memory to bounce back quickly after mistakes, especially important for a player with his inexperience. Aggressive hands to fight through blockers and make a play on the ballcarrier. Has experience on special teams coverages.
Mature work ethic with ambitious personality, both on and off the field. Solid durability with his body (not used to that type of consistent beating) holding up the full football season without serious injury. Productive one year on the football field, earning MAC Defensive Player of the Year honors.
WEAKNESSES: Only one year of football experience since high school and never played cornerback until spring 2014. Very raw technically and still learning trends and tendencies at the position. Unpolished recognition skills and needs to better anticipate route concepts and how to leverage the field.
Shows natural transitional quickness, but his mechanical flaws will hinder his ability to gain proper body position downfield. Often allows too much cushion at the line of scrimmage and is raw with his spacing and closing time. Does have press experience, but doesn't make contact off the snap and is unproven jamming receivers at the line.
Bad habit of biting on outside moves at the line and giving up inside position due to impatient feet. Too often flips his hips off the snap and needs time to develop his backpedal technique. Green behind the ears with defensive schemes and still learning secondary terminology.
COMPARES TO: Byron Maxwell, Seattle Seahawks ? Well-built, physical cornerbacks with the size/speed combination to stay on the outside are tough to come by and Maxwell and Rollins have several similarities.

I still say Rollins is a free safety and he's going to be a great one.

A little background on Quinten Rollins:
I was raised in Wilmington, Ohio, by my mother and my grandmother, along with my two younger brothers. It was definitely a trying childhood with a lot of obstacles to overcome. But I come from a hardworking family and a God-first family. I was always keeping my faith and allowing everything to take its course and growing from it and learning from it and becoming better from it.

My father was incarcerated for most of my life. He got out when I was 15. I met him once, and that was it. I couldn't even tell you what he was in for. It really doesn't affect me like you'd think it would because I was raised by two strong, godly women. They were my father figures growing up. I learned a lot from those two women.

My senior year of high school, my mom went to prison for aiding and abetting. She put a hotel room in her name for somebody. She only did a year. But I'd say that was the most trying time for me as well as my grandmother having to work hard to keep the house running smoothly. It all just gave me motivation. Yeah, you want your mother around. But it was just another obstacle in my life that I had to overcome. I had to grow up faster than most kids. I was the man of the household since I can remember.

I never thought I was going to go to college. I wanted to, but I never thought it would happen just because I knew I couldn't afford it financially. So when Miami University offered me a basketball scholarship my junior year of high school, it was a no-brainer to take that as soon as I could. It's a great school not only athletically but academically, and I'm not silly. I know you can't play sports forever.

SS Clayton Geathers, Central Florida 6-2 218lbs.

STRENGTHS: Very tough kid with good instincts and adequate speed and range. Looks the part with good size and speed. Big, smart, productive and durable. A great competitor whom the coaches really like. Can quarterback the defense with his attention to detail in reading and recognizing offensive schemes.
Right now he is better vs. the run than the pass and is an extremely productive safety in the box. Fierce force on the field who plays with a fiery disposition. Big-time hitter and contact player who likes to go for the kill shot. Showed improvement every year at UCF and finished his career with three interceptions. Overall high character player who loves playing defender.
WEAKNESSES: Lacks top speed and man coverage skills. At times is too quick to support the run and gets caught out of position. Lacks great fluidity in his hips and is not always balanced out of his backpedal - which can lead to being exploited deep. Maybe a little straight-linish.

QB Brandon Bridge, South Alabama 6-4 229lbs.

STRENGTHS: Tall, narrow body type with athletic footwork and long-striding speed to pick up yards with his legs. Elite-level arm strength and release quickness with the ability to add velocity and extra RPM's on his throws with ease. Not shy about testing tight windows and trusts his arm to make frozen rope throws and put the ball anywhere he wants on the field.
He has mobility to keep the play alive when the pocket breaks down, shaking off arm tackles and stepping up with his eyes downfield. Shows the ability to work through his reads and is a quick thinker to make snap decisions. Displayed outstanding toughness playing through an ankle injury most of November 2014.
WEAKNESSES: Bridge has improved field vision, but needs to develop his eye use and tends to stare down receivers, often leading defenders to his intended target. His receivers will struggle to handle his fastball at times and Bridge needs to develop a change-up and overall better touch to all levels. His mechanics and accuracy need refined, but neither needs an overhaul.
With only a dozen collegiate games under his belt, Bridge doesn't have the ideal experience and might need a season or two to develop before he's ready for consistent game reps, requiring a patient NFL team.
COMPARES TO: Colin Kaepernick, 49ers -- Bridge is tall and lean with a rocket launcher on his right shoulder like the 49ers quarterback and has more than enough velocity on his passes to toss ropes to all levels of the field.

WR Tyler Lockett, Kansas State 5-10 182lbs.

STRENGTHS: Runs like the wind with speed to stretch the field and get behind the secondary on vertical patterns. Sudden, decisive footwork off the snap and in his breaks to sell routes and attract holding penalties. Dynamic and deliberate route runner. Doesn?t slow down in his cuts, showing sharp burst to create space. Deadly stop-and-go and double moves with a strong understanding of how to separate in his routes. Slippery as a ballcarrier with excellent start/stop quickness, changing gears well with his spatial awareness and vision. Instinctive and decisive returner. Tracks and adjusts well, confidently attacking the ball with his hands. Terrific sideline awareness to toe tap with coordination while finishing. Scrappy and not afraid to get physical in tight coverage, using his hands to create room to work. Experienced lining up inside and outside, starting 42 games in college. Extensive experience as a return man at Kansas State with a school-record 2,196 career kick return yards (28.5 average) and four touchdowns and 488 career punt return yards (15.2) and two scores. Holds 17 school records, including breaking his father?s career marks for catches (249), receiving yards (3,710) and touchdown receptions (29). Two-year team captain with strong football character and instilled competitive drive. Football bloodlines as his father (Kevin) and uncle (Aaron) both played wide receiver for Bill Snyder at Kansas State in the mid-1990s ? Kevin was a second rounder (47th overall) in the 1997 NFL Draft and played seven seasons in the NFL.
WEAKNESSES: Shorter-than-ideal and thin-framed with very little muscle mass or room to bulk up. Short arms and small hands with a marginal catching radius. Will fight the ball at times with a bad habit of running before securing, leading to drops. Not a reliable plucker away from his body. Light and can be knocked off his route easily, struggling to win in contested situations despite his high competitive nature. Was rarely engaged by Big 12 defenders before he touched the ball and has never been challenged by press coverage. Goes down too easily with arm and fingertip tackles and won?t pick up yardage after contact with virtually no power to his game as a ballcarrier. Limited as perimeter blocker. Room to improve his ball security with six fumbles on his resume. Frail-looking frame leads to durability concerns and was banged up at times in college, including a lacerated kidney (Nov. 2011) and a nagging hamstring issue that plagued him throughout 2014.

RB Karlos Williams, Florida St. 6-1 230lbs.

STRENGTHS: Exciting combination of size, straight-line speed and power. Looks the part of an NFL athlete with a tapered, well-built frame. Possesses speed, cutback ability and power, and demonstrated improved vision over the course of his collegiate career at running back. Williams has light feet and flexible ankles to make strong cuts and redirect his momentum quickly. While decisive and smooth, he also runs with forward lean and a physical style that makes him a tough guy to slow down once he gains steam.
Terrific special teams player. Consistently beats opponents down the field and is a willing, aggressive hitter. Intriguing athlete whose speed and physicality could warrant yet another position change. Good bloodlines. Brother is former FSU standout and current Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Vince Williams.
WEAKNESSES: Being a safety-to-back convert, Williams' instincts and feel need time to develop as he clearly looks more comfortable on the outside rather than between the tackles, where he doesn't show the same game-breaking ability. Allows holes to close because of his hesitancy and choppy footwork at the line of scrimmage, displaying questionable instincts. Above all, he needs to do a better job running behind his pads to maximize balance. He runs too upright and struggles to break tackles necessary as an effective inside runner. Comes with some character red flags. Was investigated (but not charged) for a domestic violence incident in November, 2014.
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1860763/karlos-williams

TE MyCole Pruitt, South Alabama 6-2 251lbs.

STRENGTHS: Stocky build with good thickness on his frame. Gliding speed to catch the ball in stride and motor down the field. Full, long strides to get his momentum going quickly. Smooth release off the line of scrimmage with an athletic lower body and natural fluidity in his breaks. Good footwork in his routes and shows the ability to fool defenders and create room to work. Big, soft hands and attacks the ball in the air to secure. Natural adjustors with quick reflexes and body control. Fearless mindset and won't back down, doing a nice job in traffic and on 50/50 chances to gain body position. Tough and physical as a blocker with the aggressive upper body to lock out and finish. Versatile to line up inline and slot. Collected a number of accolades as the first player in SIU history to be named consensus All-American in back-to-back seasons. Highly productive and leaves school as the conference record holder in career catches (211), receiving yards (2,601) and receiving touchdowns (25) for a tight end.
WEAKNESSES: Lacks ideal height and length for the position. Lazy route runner and appears to be moving at half-speed too often, slowing in his breaks and not staying under control. Makes it too easy for defenders to anticipate his path, not consistently setting up his routes. Needs to help out his quarterback and do a better job finding open zones - doesn't have a natural feel in this area. Looks to avoid contact, playing too tentative after the catch. Needs to be more assertive and a tougher finisher. Runs out of gas and doesn't show a second gear. Not a very detailed target and needs to play smarter. Novice inline blocker and not overpowering, too content with just getting in the way and not using his hands or intensity. Some durability concerns after his junior season was ended after fracturing his right tibia (Nov. 2013), which required surgery.

C Betim Bujari, Rutgers 6-4 295lbs.

As difficult as the revolving door of Rutgers football offensive coordinators has been for Gary Nova, the quarterback can sympathize with his longtime primary partner in dissecting defenses.
Redshirt senior center Betim Bujari was selected Sunday by coaches as the team's Most Valuable Offensive Lineman ahead of NFL Draft prospect Kaleb Johnson and durable left tackle Keith Lumpkin.
http://www.app.com/story/sports/col...rutgers-football-offensive-line-mvp/20572271/

C Betim Bujari, RS Senior...After starting his career at right guard, Bujari became the starting center as a sophomore in 2012, becoming one of the team leaders last season. He started last season at center, but a lingering ankle injury allowed him to start only seven games and when he did return, Bujari helped out at guard. He is expected to move back to center full-time in 2014 and is one of the offensive leaders in the huddle.
