OG Michael Deiter Wisconsin 6-5 309lbs.

Deiter - #63

10S: 1.81
225: 21
VJ: 28
BJ: 8'9"
20S: 4.81
3C: 7.88

Overview
Durable, capable guard/center prospect who knows how to play the game but might lack the athletic elements needed to become a full-time starter on the next level. Dieter's experience in a variety of pro-style rushing schemes and his overall technique work are in his favor while his experience across the line offer flexibility that could lock him into an NFL roster as an early backup with the potential to step in and start if needed.
Strengths
  • Broad waist and thick chest
  • Posted double-digit starts at left tackle, left guard and center
  • Durable, lunch-pail guy who answers the bell each week
  • Adequate initial quickness
  • Strikes with upward blow into initial contact and rolls hips under him for lift
  • Good leg drive into double teams and down blocks
  • Finishes with vigor once he gets upper hand
  • Plus awareness to pass and catch twisters
  • Punch is tight, efficient and well-timed
  • Adequate technique in both run and pass game.
Weaknesses
  • Low winning percentage against powerful opponents with capable hands
  • Needs to use footwork to help seal and sustain against powerful opponents
  • Mechanical second-level climbs
  • Issues adjusting and connecting in space limit effectiveness as move blocker
  • Surrenders positioning and gives some ground to bull-rush
  • Lacking lateral foot quickness to mirror quickness and counters
  • Below-average ability to recover when beaten.

DT Olive Sagapolu Wisconsin 6-2 324lbs.

NFL Combine
Non-participant

Overview
Sagapolu is a big-body interior lineman who lacks the proper build and play traits of a tree-stump run clogger in the middle. His recognition and hustle allow him access to a decent amount of run plays, but whipping NFL blockers will be a challenge due to his inconsistent pad level and base strength. He should get a shot in camp to state his case as a backup nose tackle.
Strengths
  • Show punch and elevate power into opponent's pads
  • Has potential to become an adequate space-eater
  • Agile and athletic for his size
  • Above-average lateral quickness
  • Works to maintain run fits against move blocks
  • Hustle in his play creates additional tackle range
  • Can grind and dent pocket as an interior rusher
  • Great personality and well-liked in his locker room
Weaknesses
  • Carries inordinate amount of weight through his core
  • Has short arms
  • Plays with elevated pad level
  • Plays too top heavy
  • Balance and body control will always be a concern
  • Not a punch and slide two-gapper at this time
  • Gets pads turned too often
  • Durability concerns stem from injuries in 2016 and 2018

DE CeCe Jefferson Florida 6-1 266lbs.

Sorry, couldn't find any game tape

NFL Combine
Height: 6-1
Weight: 266
Arm: 33 5/8
Hand: 9 5/8
40: 5.03
10: 1.73
225: 17
VJ: 30.5
BJ: 9'0"
20S: 4.53
3C: 7.5

Overview
Short, powerful edge defender with good eyes and instincts, but a lack of explosiveness and rush talent. His move to 3-4 stand-up rusher was unimpressive which is problematic since most figure that to be his NFL position. He has NFL awareness and power and his 2017 tape as a reduced rusher showed promise. While there isn't much draft buzz around Jefferson these days, his game could translate as a backup 4-3 base end with sup-rush potential inside.
Strengths
  • Team leader and passionate about ball
  • Compact, powerful build
  • Hands jar and shock at point of attack
  • Punches and separates to set strong edges
  • Above-average instincts and recognition
  • Efficient paths to the football
  • Rarely loses sight of the football
  • Vigorous pursuit to close the sideline
  • Plays with little wasted motion in change of direction
  • Able to brace and stop runs in their track as tackler
  • Rush lives on secondary effort
  • Skilled hand counters displace the pass punch
Weaknesses
  • Lost snaps to talented teammates and production fell way off
  • Missed four months in offseason due to shoulder surgery
  • Stout but short for the edge
  • Could struggle to get into tackles on-time
  • Plays hard but unable to access juice
  • Needs better effort to shed and tackle
  • Monotone upfield rush is no threat to win the edge
  • Rush charge gets squared and punched off-track early on
  • Face-up rusher can't flip the edge with upper body turn
  • Tight knees-hips when attempting to flatten the edge

ILB Jahlani Tavai Hawaii 6-2 250lbs.

NFL Combine
Height: 6-2
Weight: 250
Arm: 31 7/8
Hand: 9

NFL Comparison
Anthony Walker
Overview
While the level of competition wasn't always noteworthy, his impact production was. In a draft that is heavy on undersized, uber-productive linebackers, Tavai offers an NFL frame, good play strength, an aggressive demeanor and almost 10 tackles per game over the last three seasons. He's not overly explosive, but his decisiveness and motor are play traits that should serve him well as a pro. He could be a good three-down backup who could develop into an eventual starter inside.
Strengths
  • Aggressive field demeanor
  • Plays with knock-back pop against tight ends
  • Pro-ready hands punch and separate at point of attack
  • Eyes play beyond his blocker
  • Rabid finding the ball and making the tackle
  • Adequate short-area acceleration Nimble to avoid foot traffic and continue flow to the ball Makes well-timed adjustments in pursuit angles
  • Rugby tackler with accurate aim to the hip
  • Has tools to rush or drop on passing downs
  • Works hands effectively as blitzer
  • Finds seam routes and faces them up in man
Weaknesses
  • Will miss Senior Bowl and Combine due to shoulder injury
  • Hustles in pursuit, but top speed looks average
  • More active and frenetic than explosive
  • Needs to play off blocks more quickly
  • Has to stay disciplined to snuff out back-side cuts Could struggle in pure man coverage
  • Tackle technique can be segmented with feet stopping to load and explode hips
  • Misses tackles when he leaves his feet behind

NFL Comparison
Levi Wallace
Overview
Long, lanky press corner who plays with good control, an ability to stay connected to routes and above-average ball skills. Bunting is a bail or trail corner who is more adept at shadowing the release than road-blocking it with physicality due to a leaner frame. He's confident in coverage and doesn't play with panic, but has to prove his top-end speed. He's proven his worth on 50-50 balls, but may fall below NFL standards with closing twitch and instincts. He's a solid Day 3 prospect with CB4 potential.
Strengths
  • Allowed under 39 percent completion rate in 2018
  • Long-limbed with fluid hips
  • Flips hips to sprint without needing to reset feet
  • Looks to physically smother outside release
  • Aware against high-low route concepts
  • Flows with bends of route and stays under control
  • Above-average ball skills with nine career interceptions
  • Long arms are a nuisance to receivers
  • Plays the ball, not the man
  • Adjusts as ball-tracker to improve positioning over receiver
  • Willing to do his part as a tackler
Weaknesses
  • Frame is thin and features below-average play strength
  • Lunges from press when lateral mirror breaks down
  • Drags behind against true vertical speed
  • Lacks make-up speed to allow for him to get head around
  • Small delay restarting acceleration from change of direction
  • Average plant-and-drive from bail
  • Close-out bursts on short throws lack juice Big, physical wideouts and stick to him as blockers Inconsistent strike-and-wrap tackling against size

Madieu Williams
Overview
Athletic, full-throttle prospect with the mindset of a linebacker in a free safety body. Blair plays the game with an aggressive field demeanor that fuels his passion to race into the action, ready to strike on sight. However, his lack of discipline hurt his team with targeting penalties and by over-running responsibilities against the run and pass. Because of his slender frame, some teams are concerned that durability could become an issue considering how he throws his body around. With that said, he's long and rangy in coverage, and embodies the mindset that defensive coordinators want from their units.
Strengths
  • Played two-high, single-high and box safety roles
  • As aggressive and competitive as they come
  • Views every rep as a direct, personal affront by his opponents
  • Races hard downhill into the action in run support
  • Factors in near line of scrimmage despite playing single-high
  • Punches and plays off blocks
  • Willing to break down in space and widen out as tackler
  • Pursuit speed to rack up tackles and run the alley
  • Lack of ball production primarily due to scheme
  • Improved understanding in coverage this year
  • Twitch for early acceleration to top speed
  • Long-strider with range to get over the top
Weaknesses
  • Slender frame with thin hips and legs
  • Carried fewer than 190 pounds during the year, according to scouts
  • Edgy play becomes undisciplined play
  • Ejected three times over last two years for targeting
  • Too eager to engage climbing blockers rather than focusing on ball-carrier
  • Could face durability issues due to aggressive nature
  • Excitable pursuit is devoid of proper leverage to sideline
  • Inconsistent angles to the ball
  • Runs himself out of coverage position when responding to route combos

QB Jordan Ta'amu Mississippi 6-3 221lbs.

Arm: 32 1/4
Hand: 9 7/8
40: 4.78
VJ: 27.5
BJ: 9'1"
20S: 4.36

Overview
Ultimately, Ta'amu just doesn't play chess well enough against defensive coordinators who are able to slow his processing with disguised blitzes and multiple coverages. He's tough enough and has the arm talent, but will need to learn to stay a step ahead of defenses since many of his inconsistencies stem from playing a rushed brand of football.
Strengths
  • Compact, sturdy frame
  • Possesses NFL arm talent
  • Averaged 9.5 yards per attempt
  • Good drive velocity with additional ability to quick-flick with zip
  • Will uncork deep throws early to take safety help out of the play
  • Able to throw teardrops in the bucket down the sideline
  • Makes accurate throws when he's in rhythm
  • Able to roll-out and connect on the move from 40 yards away
  • Had some success on quarterback draw
Weaknesses
  • Ball handling on RPOs is sluggish
  • Needs better field awareness pre-snap
  • Slow to recognize and counter blitz
  • Below-average escapability once rush gets to pocket
  • Sacks himself with indecisiveness
  • Pump-fake machine who struggles with anticipation
  • Pumps and staredown allow linemen to hone on batted passes
  • Runs receivers into big hits
  • Completed 44 percent of his passes with one touchdown and four interceptions against LSU, Alabama and Mississippi State

Austin Ekeler
Overview
"Run to daylight" back who excels as an outside runner with clear paths to follow. While he can make tacklers miss, his lack of vision sometimes takes him to trafficked areas when optimal routes are available. He's a little undersized, but runs big and he already possesses NFL-level toughness in pass protection. Homer has his flaws, but he's a smooth athlete with a chance to outplay his draft slotting. His value as a punt gunner and third-down option gives him a chance for early reps right out of the gate.
Strengths
  • Has experience offset and from I-formation
  • Runs with pace and conviction
  • Good lateral agility for smooth bounce-outs
  • Bob-and-weave footwork to navigate traffic
  • Able to make the late, sudden cuts to slip tackler
  • Good speed and power to turn and finish as outside runner
  • Above-average contact balance
  • Doesn't slow into contact and finds ways to resist tackles and fall forward
  • One of the better pass protectors in this draft
  • Steps up and steps into contact giving blitzers a taste
Weaknesses
  • Fumble in spring game foreshadowed fumbles in-season
  • Fumbled four times at clip of once every 42 carries
  • Leaves yards on the field
  • Field vision appears filtered through a straw
  • Misses back-side one-cut opportunities too often
  • Inconsistent in setting up tacklers
  • Quick to duck head and bull forward when he has no clear point of entry
  • Takes on tackler in the hole rather than eluding him

NFL Comparison
Kenny Golladay
Overview
Lingering on his tape can cause excessive focus on his inconsistencies and areas of improvement, but projecting his traits with additional coaching makes more sense. Boykin's size, length and athleticism offers exciting potential as an outside receiver with mismatch potential, but he will have to learn how to counter press, improve his routes and become more competitive when the ball is in the air. His size won't matter if he doesn't learn to impose it on others. If that happens, he'll become an eventual starter with a high ceiling.
Strengths
  • Rare size and length
  • Loose hips with long, strides to get on top of cornerbacks quickly
  • Athleticism and body control to pivot and twist for back shoulder catches
  • Adequate sink to drop, anchor and present
  • Meets throws with good arm extension away from his body
  • Size causes cornerbacks to panic and interfere downfield
  • High-point will be highest on the field
  • Tape full of leaping grabs
  • Traits to become more efficient as intermediate route-runner
  • Could become very good blocker with more play strength
Weaknesses
  • Hasn't learned to counter press jabs with his hands
  • Allows press corners to grind on him
  • Stride length limits burst out of the top of his route
  • Needs to finish his in-breaking routes
  • Below-average downfield adjustments
  • Cornerbacks are allowed to crowd his chest
  • Needs more aggressiveness and play strength
  • Catch focus runs hot and cold
  • Limited yardage after the catch on levels 1 and 2.

Jack Doyle
Overview
Sample's size and lunch-pail demeanor are what NFL teams look for at the point of attack. While he might be typecast as just a blocking tight end, he possess enough speed and ball skills to become a more productive pass catcher than he was at Washington. His size, football character and commitment as a run blocker give him a chance to become a solid combination tight end with TE2 potential.
Strengths
  • Cerebral player praised for task-oriented, serious demeanor
  • NFL size to step into blocking duties of a "Y" tight end
  • Possesses adequate tenacity and grip strength to help sustain blocks
  • Uses good technique and placement with hands as run blocker
  • Works to unlock hips under his hands for improved leverage at point of attack
  • Patient second-level blocker with motor to try and chase down targets in space if needed
  • Good initial speed into routes
  • Opens his stride length for some separation speed on crossing routes
  • Sharpens focus despite body or hand traffic near the catch point
  • Recognizes man vs
  • zone coverage and will cut routes off and sink in space for his quarterback
  • Hands are supple and sure as pass catcher
Weaknesses
  • Routes are a little monotone and predictable
  • Doesn't create much leverage into breaks against man coverage, allowing defenders to stick to him
  • Production as pass-catcher has been limited
  • Needs to improve upper-body strength to handle rigors of NFL blocking
  • Takes inconsistent angles in cut-off blocks
  • Would benefit from learning to re-set hands in pass protection when giving up his frame
  • Doesn't lack toughness but could use a little more edge

OC Lamont Gaillard Georgia 6-3 305lbs.

NFL Combine
Height: 6-3
Weight: 305
Arm: 33 1/2
Hand: 10 3/8

NFL Comparison
Brian de la Puente
Overview
Three-year starter and team captain whose tenacity and dirt-dog mentality typifies the Georgia offensive line over the last couple of years. Gaillard's play is not without technique, but when the rep gets sideways on him, he will turn it into a proverbial fist-fight to try and hang on and get his job done. He's better down the middle than laterally and may be best suited in a power-based run scheme. It's not going to always look pretty, but his tape against Alabama shows that he's capable of becoming an eventual starter sometime soon.
Strengths
  • Team captain
  • Tougher than old brisket and nasty as a finisher
  • Held his own against talented Alabama front
  • Has big hands and above-average wingspan
  • Attacks up under opponents' pads
  • Resets feet for improved leverage on base blocks
  • Inside hands find their mark quickly
  • Torques from shoulders and hips to turn stalemate into win
  • Moves well in climbs to inside 'backers
  • Sets the MIKE linebacker for his team
  • Quick left jab delivered right after the snap
  • Consistent identification and response to twists
Weaknesses
  • Undersized by NFL standards
  • Build is sloppy and needs refinement
  • Plays with emotion but has to keep it in check
  • Whiffs when he fires out with head down
  • Doesn't gain lateral ground for consistent reach blocks
  • Needs to run feet through block to help him stick
  • Caught too far forward in some pass sets
  • Lunges after A-gap blitzers rather than sliding to meet it
  • Distracted by peripheral rushers and will void his area

Kedric Golston
Overview
Enticing prospect offering size, strength and athleticism to entice NFL general managers who covet elite traits over college production. Wren's play was uneven while aligned on the nose in 2018, but he should benefit from a move to defensive tackle in an odd or even front as a pro. The cheat code in unlocking his ability and production might rest in a team's ability to correct his hands and feet while improving recognition. With all things considered, "boom or bust" might be an appropriate tag for him.
Strengths
  • Physical specimen with broad upper body and proportional thickness in lowers
  • Freaky athlete with elite explosion and power numbers in the weight room
  • Coaches will salivate over size and moldable talent
  • Frame offers consideration in odd or even fronts
  • Plus snap reaction gains early entry into neutral zone
  • His play features disruptive flashes in the gaps
  • Lethal potential as penetrator with development of a swim move
  • Tools to become adept as both 1- and 2-gap player
  • Strength in hands to jolt and separate with more work
  • Despite a lack of rush production, does have potential as pocket pusher
Weaknesses
  • Much more active than productive
  • Play lacks control and consistency
  • Pops upright out of stance, with leverage immediately compromised
  • Shoddy footwork early in rep promotes balance inconsistencies
  • Narrow base and lack of bend hinder anchor
  • Inconsistent to square pads at point of attack
  • Needs inside hands and earlier arm extension to access his 2-gap control
  • Read-and-react needs vast improvement
  • Gets caught behind move blocks despite his lateral quickness
  • Rush attack reliant on force and quickness over skill and counters

Jeremiah Ledbetter
Overview
Clear-cut "tweener" lacking the quickness and rush of a defensive end and the mass of an interior tackle. Ledbetter has an ability to win with skill, technique and effort over traits and twitch, but that will become much more challenging on the next level unless he continues to get bigger and stronger. He doesn't offer rush value, but he plays hard and does his job. He should find work as a blue-collar backup defensive lineman with some flexibility between DE and DT, depending on scheme.
Strengths
  • Feels pressure on his edge and snaps hips to sink
  • Above-average anchor for his size
  • Operates with well-timed punch to stick and separate
  • Slams into pulling guards, allowing linebackers to flow unimpeded
  • Relentless motor with ability to recover from early deficit in the rep
  • Balances through contact and maintain gap integrity
  • Uses punch to arm-over for his quick wins
  • Good read-and-react from two-gap technique
  • Chests up as tackler and has a high finishing rate
  • Generates imbalance in pass sets with plus hand-fighting and upper-body strength
Weaknesses
  • In-between size makes finding a fit more challenging
  • Movement more gradual than sudden
  • Very little career sack production
  • Lacks upfield charge to threaten
  • Face-up rushing style easy to find and punch for tackles
  • Unable to hit quick counters to work from edge to edge
  • Doesn't have get-off for effective penetration in gaps
  • Needs to be quicker and more decisive with block shed on NFL level
  • Play becomes stiff-legged through block engagements

Obum Gwacham
Overview
Three-year starter with athletic ability and length teams look for from edge talent. Hollins has shown consistent growth as a prospect and flashes every-down potential at times, but his lack of consistent aggression and force could be a limiting factor. He should find special teams reps early on, but his future might very well be defined by his team's ability to develop and unlock his capacity as a disruptive pass rusher.
Strengths
  • Plays with plus athleticism and movement skills in both tight quarters and open field
  • Possesses agility and looseness in both upper and lower body to be a slippery target
  • Plays with eyes beyond initial block and into backfield
  • Stick-and-move handwork allows him to punch and work around edge blockers
  • Accelerates with adequate close-out range to challenge runners headed for the corner
  • Can drop and and cover if asked to do so
  • Hunts for football as pass rusher and has penchant for strip sacks
  • Sudden inside move in pass rush could become dangerous weapon with more refinement
  • Quality upfield get-off as pass rusher
  • Unique "triple-jump" stride on third step upfield can propel him past kick-sliding tackles
Weaknesses
  • Needs more dog in his fight; doesn't always play with aggressive demeanor teams look for
  • Needs to confront and shed blockers at point of attack rather than riding on them
  • Play strength is below average
  • Has tendency to lose leverage when forced over top of blocker on backside squeeze versus run
  • Will need to improve hand skill to more consistently grease the edge on edge rush
  • Better upper-body turn at top of the rush arc could improve efficiency and tightness of path to quarterback
  • Tends to disappear during stretches of the game

Overview
Dean's combination of height, weight and speed will get the conversation started off in the right direction for NFL evaluators, but there is no way around the fact that multiple knee surgeries will be a cause for concern in those same circles. His length and ability to disrupt catch space is a big plus in his favor and he has the athletic ability to play in a variety of coverages. However, he needs more consistent competitiveness and better technique for the next level.
Strengths
  • Above-average size/speed combination
  • Carries a proportional frame with very long arms
  • Has lateral quickness to stay in position from press
  • Physical in crowding receivers against the boundary
  • Accelerates quickly to top speed and carries it with him deep
  • Consistently harasses and crowds catch space
  • Sinks and stutters feet for short-area change of direction
  • Allowed less than 40 percent completion rate in 2018
  • Long arms to punch and separate from blocking receivers
  • Speedy to cut of angle in run support
