If we sign someone today will it count as this year signing or does it count as 2018 -2019 FA class.
Are We allowed to still sign FA still?

It will go against our cap period.....we won't know how much the cap has gone up until later in the offseason, but estimates are in the $178M range.
......but we could only sign our FA's.....open FA doesn't start until like mid march when we can start making contact with other team's FA's.

We could still add players to future's contracts. I don't think we came close to maximizing that group, unless I missed something.
We can also sign players who have been released/cut. You can sign those guys anytime, just like guys who get signed mid season off their couch.
If I had the magic pen, I would sign Vontae Davis right now to a reasonable 3 year deal, but only to play free safety, not a CB contract. IMO, Vontae projects at safety just as well Devin McCourty ever did, and his move was massively successful.
Vontae is a viscous and sure tackler, and when a 100% his coverage skills are elite.
