Booker to outperform his draft value?

This is turning out to be a very exciting draft. Most of the time, it's a few players that you can't wait to see get on the field. But, I'm really looking forward to seeing how every one of our picks turn out. Can't wait for camp.

I agree with that 100%, funny how Ginn doesn't really come up though, like to mention his name is to risk the wraith of the folks who don't like the pick.

Jones drew actually weighs like 210. booker is not really that small about 195 5 10. the same was said about Barber. I would be excited to see what booker could do in extended duty and would rather give him 20 carries a game than split with cobbs or chatman.
I think Booker can contribute and be s surprise like Jones Drew was last year. Jones Drew is a more physical runner than Booker but Booker had nothing to work with at FSU.

Didn't get to see Florida State much but from a distance thought the running game was what killed Florida State. Guess the jury will still be out on Booker. I remember him on signing day and all the hoop la but never heard much from him with regards to back up the hype.

All I remember was Florida State fans pretty much demanding Bowden Jr.'s head on a platter and some one who knew offense take the spot and take it now. Sounds like Booker got the shaft on that one. Sounds like Florida State might have a good OC now although he's a Saban boy. Don't know how I would feel about that. Hopefully he won't fold under pressure and run to Alabama after a couple of years when the going gets tough.

Booker might have a lot to prove and let's all hope he does because it would make the RB situation a little more positive since there are some that still want Ricky. If Booker can blow up and spell Ronnie the same way Ricky did but with speed to offset the power of Brown that might be what Miami needed more than Ricky. Always thought that Ricky and Ronnie would be great but that they were kind of the same way. Beat you down after a lot of carries but it took time. From the sounds of Booker he'll just blow by you which is want you want after Ronnie beats the snot out of them most of the time. The defense gets tired and a fresh Booker blows by you for the TD or the big 1st down. Gonna be fun. Although it's June and I am drinking the cool aide right now because that is what June is for.

Brian Flood from rotoworld.com names Lorenzo Booker among the backup RBs who could outperform their draft values,

Lorenzo Booker, Dolphins

"This third-round rookie was so good coming out of high school that he was considered somewhat of a bust at Florida State despite leaving the program as its seventh best rusher of all time with 2,298 yards. He's elusive, quick and can take it to the house on any carry. If Ronnie Brown were to miss an extended period of time for whatever reason, you're looking at a potential fantasy stud. If Brown stays healthy, you could easily be looking at this season's Jones-Drew."

I really like Booker and I hope he does as we all expect. His problem was being in the worst FSU teams in years (it all started when my alma mater, UNC, beat them with an interception returned for a TD by Julius Peppers).

I think Booker is one of the more intriguing players we have. Over anyone else on this team, he could 'outperform' his draft status, as you said. Will he be an every-down back ?? Doubtful.

Two reasons...one is Brown... As the #2 overall pick, he'll be expected to be the main back. He has the ability but has been hampered by circumstances not completely in his control so far. Mainly the lack of an offensive system that utilizes his strengths. Saban, the Micro-Manager specialist of a HC we had, put Brown in the dog house and Linehan didn't get a chance to use him until it was too late, but he did come on late in his first year. Mularkey still doesn't know a RB from a OL so he didn't help Brown any last year, although he fared well considering. This year, we should see some different and better things from Brown. As he gets better, that'll mean fewer carries for LoBook.

Second, LoBook isn't really an every-down back. He'll need this year to figure out how the rigors of the game will toll on his body so he can adjust his training routine to best suit the game. If he learns that quickly, he may get more opportunities, but only if Brown falters somewhat.

He does add some burst and flexibility to the offense that Cam should utilize to it's fullest. We had a similar player a few years ago, but he just never developed for one reason or another (Minor)...But with his God-given talent and Cam, we could see some special things from him....
