I've been beating this drum for a while. Given a chance to only fire one of the coordinators he's the one I would have picked. At least Sherman had the excuse of a ****ty o-line and low payroll. But the defense was straight Cadillac contracts all the way and high picks. They should have been way better than they were. The problem was all the excess stunting and line games up front. Made things easy to pick off our linebackers, who didn't help things by being mediocre. Coyle needed to stop trying to win by outsmarting the offensive coordinator so much and realize where he had better players and good matchups and just play it straight more often.

There is a reason why Spikes got treated like this by Belichick. The excuse of being late to practice in when the snow affected the roads, could be real. Belichick must have just wanted to get rid of him (and how/why is he allowed to call it IR if he's not injured?). Interesting side note, Spikes was another Hernandez buddy at UF.

Jason Worilds. yeah he plays in 3-4 but he can tackle. he can fit better than chowder 2.0. Steelers cap hell again.

Start drafting studs. That is the easy answer.

Spikes is Crowder 2.0
He's a thumper, but is useless in space. His reputation is enhanced simply because he plays for the Pats. If he signs with the fins, half the fans here will criticize him incessantly and say he's a liability and can't cover TE's

World class run stopper who is very valuable on 1st and 2nd down. I'd be in favor.

As much as im a gator homer...

No. He can't be a replacement for Wheeler because he is (and always has been) better suited for the inside. He's a thumper that can also be used as a blitzer due to his DE size. We already have a thumper in Ellerbe. What we need is a more rangy LB who can compliment Ellerbe and Misi who have similar skill sets.

Brandon Spikes also made a porn video (not great). While Belichick turned a blind eye to that, my hunch is that Philbin would not see him as a high character guy.
When was the last time the Patriots let a player go who then excelled on another team? (Welker was poorly negotiated, they expected to get him back and overplayed their hand).

Chowder 2.0? For the love of all that is Phin football, hell no! What is it with these flavor of month threads?

Woodhead

Agreed and I'm sure they would love to have him but with Ridley, Blount, Vareen (Woodhead's role) and Boldin they were pretty all set at RB. The Jets should have never kept Joe McKnight over him. They should have cut bait with their 3rd round draft pick because Woodhead is a much better player and it was pretty obvious it would stay that way simply by watching McKnight in Hard Knocks.
