Bring Back the Wishbone set

I'll say to you as I say to my little league parents. Why run the wishbone if you can't run it's best play? The option made the wishbone the formation that it is. Not only do you outnumber the opposition at the flank but you offer a pitch of the ball at the last moment. Why would you leave it out of the arsenal?

The option play is usually ran from a two back set ... a hand off or fake hand off to the up back .... a rollout by the QB to the perimiter with the optional pitch to the trailing tailback.

The wishbone is best utilized in my opinion for spreading the field and creating mismatches for the QB in the passing attack, or a power running game.

Wishbone is the most easiest basic offense ever invented. It was the first offense I learned as a kid. Wishbone is basically a power offense with not to much deception or many options of plays you could run from this formation.
