My mom used to date a guy way back when who was in a band and knew them. He got a call to audition after Van Zant and Gaines died (he was an amazing guitarist ... one of those who could hear something once and play it exactly). He ended up getting the gig but his girlfriend - later wife - and eventually ex wife - broke the news that she was pregnant and didn't want him living that kind of lifestyle. So he didn't take a life changing gig, the wife cheated on him and they divorced, and he ended up taking over for his dad at the go kart track.

Moral of the story ... women are ****ing evil.
